Stansted Airport to Westminster Transfer – Fixed Price to Parliament and Whitehall
A Stansted Airport to Westminster transfer is a fixed-price Mercedes chauffeur, around 60 to 85 minutes door to door and from £200 one way, running in both directions 24/7. The return leg, Westminster to Stansted Airport, is the same fixed fare and the same route in reverse.
This journey is one of the routes on our Stansted airport chauffeur page, which covers every destination we drive from the airport with the same Mercedes fleet, the same met-at-arrivals pickup and the same fixed-price promise.

Westminster sits close to 40 miles south-west of Stansted Airport – see Stansted Airport to London, in full for every other district MILE5 covers. The route runs the M11 and the North Circular before crossing into central London, and in normal traffic that’s around 60 to 85 minutes.

All prices are fixed and all-inclusive, agreed before you travel, in both directions. Final quote depends on exact pickup or drop-off address, vehicle choice and any additional stops. No surge pricing, no hidden fees.
Every fare includes in-terminal meet-and-greet inside the Stansted arrivals hall, flight tracking so a delayed landing doesn’t cost you the booking, and 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time. The £10 Express Set Down charge at the terminal is absorbed in the price shown, and so is the ULEZ charge and the Congestion Charge where the journey into Westminster crosses into the zone – the airport itself sits outside both, the charges belong to the journey, not the pickup. Split seven ways, £298 works out at £43 a head for the whole run, straightforward for a family or a group heading to the same address.
Parliament, Whitehall and the Government Estate
Westminster is where Parliament, Whitehall and the wider government estate sit within a few hundred metres of each other, and that concentration means the area runs on a different rhythm to the rest of central London. Sitting days, state occasions and visiting dignitaries all bring road closures that a generic satnav route doesn’t account for, and a driver relying on an app alone can end up stuck at a cordon rather than dropping you where you actually need to be.
MILE5 covers Westminster alongside neighbouring the Victoria route page, the two areas that sit either side of the same government and transport hub.
For a stay at one of the area’s hotels, MILE5 runs the same fixed-price transfer to our Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel transfer, our Taj 51 Buckingham Gate hotel transfer and our Corinthia London write-up.
Why Security Closures Genuinely Change the Route
State occasions, protests and high-profile visits can close Whitehall, Parliament Square or the surrounding streets with very little warning, sometimes for hours at a time. MILE5 drivers track these closures on the day and route around them rather than discovering a cordon on arrival, which matters far more here than on almost any other route in London.
Westminster Chauffeur vs the Stansted Express vs a Hire Car
For one person travelling in daylight hours, the honest comparison starts with the train, not the car.
| Option | Journey time | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| MILE5 chauffeur | 60-85min | Door to door, fixed price, drivers who track state-occasion and security closures on the day |
| Stansted Express | 48min to Liverpool St + a change | Wins on price and time to Liverpool Street itself, but Westminster needs a further Tube change – add 20-30 minutes and it does nothing for luggage or a group |
| Hire car | 60-85min | Similar drive time, but you’re finding parking near the government estate yourself, and a closure with no local knowledge can cost you the best part of an hour |
For a group with luggage arriving outside the Stansted Express’s hours, the better comparison is a pre-booked chauffeur against an app-hailed car at the kerb – see MILE5’s look at why a chauffeur beats Uber for an airport transfer.
What Running This Route Has Taught Us
The Stansted Express is honestly the right call for one person catching a daytime train into Liverpool Street – it’s faster and it’s cheaper. Where the car earns its keep is at the edges: the first trains out of Liverpool Street leave at 03:40 on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays, 04:10 on Sundays and 04:40 Tuesday to Thursday, which is tight for the earliest departure wave out of Stansted, and the last train back from the airport leaves at 00:30, so a delayed late arrival lands into no train at all. That gap, in both directions, is where a pre-booked fixed-price car earns its keep over a train ticket – and around Westminster’s security cordons, a driver who already knows the diversion is worth more than the fare alone suggests.
Your Driver at Stansted Airport
Stansted has one terminal building – there’s no North or South side to specify, unlike Gatwick. Your driver waits inside the arrivals hall holding a name board, tracking your flight so a delay shifts the pickup time rather than costing you the booking. The Express Set Down area sits right next to the terminal, and the £10 charge there is already built into the fixed price above. Check the arrivals board and MILE5’s own Stansted Airport guide for terminal-specific detail on the day.

Stansted to Westminster Chauffeur – Frequently Asked Questions
How much is a Stansted Airport to Westminster transfer?
Fares start from £200 one way in the E-Class, £293 in the S-Class and £298 in the V-Class, fixed and agreed before you travel, the same in both directions.
Do you cover Westminster to Stansted Airport transfers too?
Yes – every booking runs in both directions at the same fixed price, whether you’re travelling out to Westminster or making the Westminster to Stansted Airport run afterwards.
Do state occasions or security closures affect the route?
Sometimes – sitting days, state occasions and high-profile visits can close streets around Parliament and Whitehall with little notice. MILE5 drivers track these closures and route around them on the day.
How long does the drive from Stansted Airport to Westminster take?
Around 60 to 85 minutes in normal traffic, depending on the time of day and any closures around the government estate.
Is the Stansted Express cheaper than a chauffeur to Westminster?
On price alone for one person, yes. It’s about 48 minutes to Liverpool Street, but Westminster still needs a further Tube change, which adds time and doesn’t help with luggage or a group travelling together.
What happens if my flight into Stansted is delayed?
Nothing changes on your end. Every Westminster booking is flight-tracked, so a delayed landing shifts your driver’s pickup time automatically rather than costing you the fare or the booking.
Can I book a larger vehicle for a family or group?
Yes – the V-Class seats up to seven with matching luggage space, and at £298 for the whole vehicle that works out at £43 a head for a full group.
Where does my driver meet me at Stansted Airport?
Inside the arrivals hall, holding a name board, for every Westminster booking. Stansted has a single terminal, so there’s no terminal number or side to specify.
