Every fare includes in-terminal meet-and-greet inside the Stansted arrivals hall, flight tracking so a delayed landing doesn’t cost you the booking, and 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time. The £10 Express Set Down charge at the terminal is absorbed in the price shown, and so is the ULEZ charge and the Congestion Charge where the journey into Waldorf Astoria Admiralty Arch crosses into the zone – the airport itself sits outside both, the charges belong to the journey, not the pickup. Split seven ways, £295 works out at £42 a head for the whole run – a practical option for a family or group arriving together.

Arriving Through a National Monument

Waldorf Astoria Admiralty Arch occupies Admiralty Arch itself, the Grade I listed gateway linking The Mall to Trafalgar Square, completed in 1912. The hotel will have 114 rooms, suites and residences, with Clare Smyth’s Coreus restaurant and Daniel Boulud’s rooftop Café Boulud. Hilton has announced an autumn 2026 opening, with stays currently bookable from 1 March 2027, so check your dates with the hotel. The Mall closes to traffic on Sundays, bank holidays and for ceremonial events, and on those days your driver plans the approach from the Trafalgar Square side.

MILE5 also covers the drive to Corinthia London a short distance away, and for the wider district, the Westminster district page.

One of Several Whitehall and St James’s Hotels

Waldorf Astoria Admiralty Arch sits within the same pocket of Whitehall and St James’s MILE5 covers for several other well-known hotels. MILE5 also runs transfers to Raffles London at The OWO, our The Stafford London page and our Taj 51 Buckingham Gate page, all within easy reach of the same part of London.

Waldorf Astoria Admiralty Arch Chauffeur vs the Stansted Express vs a Hire Car

For one person travelling in daylight hours, the honest comparison starts with the train, not the car.

OptionJourney timeWorth knowing
MILE5 chauffeur55-75minDoor to door to the hotel entrance, fixed price
Stansted Express + Underground48min to Liverpool St + a changeWins on price for one person, but The Mall needs a further Underground leg south-west – manageable without much luggage, less so with a case each
Hire car55-75minSimilar drive time, but parking around Trafalgar Square is scarce, on top of the ULEZ and Congestion Charge – both already built into MILE5’s fixed price

For a family or group arriving together, the better comparison is a pre-booked chauffeur against a minicab booked at short notice – see MILE5’s comparison of Uber against Bolt in London.

What Running This Route Has Taught Us

The Stansted Express is honestly the right call for one person catching a daytime train into Liverpool Street – it’s cheaper, and The Mall is a further Underground hop from there. Where the car earns its keep is luggage, a late landing, a group travelling together, and the door: no change at Liverpool Street and no walk down The Mall with your cases.

Your Driver at Stansted Airport

Stansted has one terminal building – there’s no North or South side to specify, unlike Gatwick. Your driver waits inside the arrivals hall holding a name board, tracking your flight so a delay shifts the pickup time rather than costing you the booking. The Express Set Down area sits right next to the terminal, and the £10 charge there is already built into the fixed price above. Check the arrivals board and MILE5‘s own Stansted Airport guide for terminal-specific detail on the day.
