Stansted Airport to Vauxhall Transfer – Fixed Price to Nine Elms and the New Embassy Quarter
A Stansted Airport to Vauxhall transfer is a fixed-price Mercedes chauffeur, around 60 to 80 minutes door to door and from £201 one way, running in both directions 24/7. The return leg, Vauxhall to Stansted Airport, is the same fixed fare and the same route in reverse. Vauxhall is the fastest-changing corner of this part of London – much of the district covered by this page didn’t exist ten years ago, and parts of it are still under crane.
This journey is one of the routes on our Stansted chauffeur service page, which covers every destination we drive from the airport with the same Mercedes fleet, the same met-at-arrivals pickup and the same fixed-price promise.

Vauxhall sits close to 40 miles south-west of Stansted Airport – see our central London route list for every other district MILE5 covers. The route runs the M11 before crossing central London, and in normal traffic that’s around 60 to 80 minutes.

All prices are fixed and all-inclusive, agreed before you travel, in both directions. Final quote depends on exact pickup or drop-off address, vehicle choice and any additional stops. No surge pricing, no hidden fees.
Every fare includes in-terminal meet-and-greet inside the Stansted arrivals hall, flight tracking so a delayed landing doesn’t cost you the booking, and 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time. The £10 Express Set Down charge at the terminal is absorbed in the price shown, and so is the ULEZ charge and the Congestion Charge where the journey into Vauxhall crosses into the zone – the airport itself sits outside both, the charges belong to the journey, not the pickup. Split seven ways, £299 works out at £43 a head for the whole run – useful for a team or family group travelling in together.
Nine Elms and the New Embassy Quarter
Nine Elms is the redevelopment that’s reshaped Vauxhall’s skyline – a run of new residential towers along the river between Vauxhall and Battersea, built around the US Embassy’s move to a new riverside building here in 2018. That relocation pulled a cluster of diplomatic and corporate addresses into the area with it, and the construction hasn’t stopped since: new blocks keep opening, and the London Underground’s Northern line extension runs straight through it. It’s genuinely a district still being built, which means addresses and access routes here change faster than almost anywhere else on this list.
MILE5 covers Vauxhall alongside the neighbouring south-west London riverside districts, including the Fulham pickup page, the Stansted to Wandsworth page, our Clapham transfer service and how we price Battersea.
Battersea Power Station, Close By But a Different Postcode
The redeveloped Battersea Power Station sits just along the riverbank from Vauxhall, and the two areas are often talked about together – but they’re separate destinations with separate access roads, and MILE5 treats them as separate bookings for exactly that reason. If your address is genuinely in the Power Station development itself, our dedicated Battersea page (linked above) is the more precise match; this page is built around Vauxhall and Nine Elms specifically.
Vauxhall Chauffeur vs the Stansted Express vs a Hire Car
For one person travelling in daylight hours, the honest comparison starts with the train, not the car.
| Option | Journey time | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| MILE5 chauffeur | 60-80min | Door to door, fixed price, confirms the exact block or embassy address before pickup – useful in an area still under construction |
| Stansted Express + Underground | 48min to Liverpool St + a change | Wins on price for one person, but Vauxhall needs a change at Tottenham Hale onto the Victoria line – workable solo, less so with luggage or a group |
| Hire car | 60-80min | Similar drive time, but parking in a construction-heavy area changes month to month, on top of the ULEZ and Congestion Charge – both already built into MILE5’s fixed price |
For a team or family group, the better comparison is a pre-booked chauffeur against a minicab booked at short notice – see MILE5’s comparison of Addison Lee against Uber in London.
What Running This Route Has Taught Us
The Stansted Express is honestly the right call for one person catching a daytime train into Liverpool Street – it’s faster and it’s cheaper, and Vauxhall is only a short further hop by Underground from there. Where the car earns its keep is at the edges: the first trains out of Liverpool Street leave at 03:40 on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays, 04:10 on Sundays and 04:40 Tuesday to Thursday, which is tight for the earliest departure wave out of Stansted, and the last train back from the airport leaves at 00:30, so a delayed late arrival lands into no train at all. That gap, in both directions, is where a pre-booked fixed-price car earns its keep over a train-and-Underground combination – and in a district that’s still being built, a driver who confirms the exact new-build address in advance is worth more than the saving.
Your Driver at Stansted Airport
Stansted has one terminal building – there’s no North or South side to specify, unlike Gatwick. Your driver waits inside the arrivals hall holding a name board, tracking your flight so a delay shifts the pickup time rather than costing you the booking. The Express Set Down area sits right next to the terminal, and the £10 charge there is already built into the fixed price above. Check the arrivals board and MILE5‘s own Stansted Airport guide for terminal-specific detail on the day.

Stansted to Vauxhall Chauffeur – Frequently Asked Questions
How much is a Stansted Airport to Vauxhall transfer?
Fares start from £201 one way in the E-Class, £293 in the S-Class and £299 in the V-Class, fixed and agreed before you travel, the same in both directions.
Do you cover Vauxhall to Stansted Airport transfers too?
Yes – every booking runs in both directions at the same fixed price, whether you’re travelling out to Vauxhall or making the Vauxhall to Stansted Airport run afterwards.
Is this the same area as Battersea Power Station?
No – they’re close but separate destinations with separate access roads. This page covers Vauxhall and Nine Elms specifically; for the Power Station development itself, see our Battersea page.
How long does the drive from Stansted Airport to Vauxhall take?
Around 60 to 80 minutes in normal traffic, running the M11 before crossing central London.
Is the Stansted Express cheaper than a chauffeur to Vauxhall?
On price alone for one person, yes. The Stansted Express stops at Tottenham Hale, where Vauxhall needs a change onto the Victoria line, which doesn’t help with luggage or a group.
Can my driver find a new-build address in Nine Elms?
Yes – tell MILE5 the exact block and the driver will confirm it before pickup, which matters in an area where new buildings keep opening and street layouts keep changing.
What happens if my flight into Stansted is delayed?
Nothing changes on your end. Every Vauxhall booking is flight-tracked, so a delayed landing shifts your driver’s pickup time automatically rather than costing you the fare or the booking.
Can I book a larger vehicle for a team or family group?
Yes – the V-Class seats up to seven with matching luggage space, and at £299 for the whole vehicle that works out at £43 a head for a full group.
