Stansted Airport to The London Edition

Stansted Airport to The London Edition Transfer – Fixed Price to Berners Street

A Stansted Airport to The London Edition transfer is a fixed-price Mercedes chauffeur, around 55 to 75 minutes door to door and from £201 one way, running in both directions 24/7. The return leg, The London Edition to Stansted Airport, is the same fixed fare and the same route in reverse. The hotel sits on Berners Street in Fitzrovia, a short walk from Soho, and it draws a younger, later-running crowd than most of the traditional hotels in this cluster.

This journey is one of the routes on our Stansted airport chauffeur page, which covers every destination we drive from the airport with the same Mercedes fleet, the same met-at-arrivals pickup and the same fixed-price promise.

All prices are fixed and all-inclusive, agreed before you travel, in both directions. Final quote depends on exact pickup or drop-off address, vehicle choice and any additional stops. No surge pricing, no hidden fees.

Every fare includes in-terminal meet-and-greet inside the Stansted arrivals hall, flight tracking so a delayed landing doesn’t cost you the booking, and 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time. The £10 Express Set Down charge at the terminal is absorbed in the price shown, and so is the ULEZ charge and the Congestion Charge where the journey into The London Edition crosses into the zone – the airport itself sits outside both, the charges belong to the journey, not the pickup. Split seven ways, £299 works out at £42 a head for the whole run – a practical option for a family or group arriving together.

Fitzrovia, a Step From Soho

Berners Street puts The London Edition in Fitzrovia, technically a different district to Soho but close enough to feel like an extension of it – a five-minute walk brings guests into the middle of Soho’s restaurants and nightlife. That proximity shapes the hotel’s guest mix towards a younger, later-running crowd than the traditional five-stars nearby. MILE5 drivers who run this pickup regularly know Berners Street’s position well enough to avoid the worst of the Oxford Street traffic funnelling past it.

MILE5 also covers the Stansted to The Langham Hotel page a short distance away, and for the wider district, our Marylebone route page.

One of Several Marylebone-Area Hotels

The London Edition sits within the same wider district MILE5 covers for several other well-known hotels. MILE5 also runs our Great Northern Hotel transfer page and the Landmark London pickup page, both within easy reach of the same part of London.

The London Edition Chauffeur vs the Stansted Express vs a Hire Car

For one person travelling in daylight hours, the honest comparison starts with the train, not the car.

OptionJourney timeWorth knowing
MILE5 chauffeur55-75minDoor to door, avoiding the worst of the Oxford Street funnel, fixed price
Stansted Express + Underground48min to Liverpool St + a changeWins on price for one person, but Berners Street needs a further Underground leg west – manageable without much luggage, less so with a case each
Hire car55-75minSimilar drive time, but parking around Fitzrovia is scarce, on top of the ULEZ and Congestion Charge – both already built into MILE5’s fixed price

For a family or group arriving together, the better comparison is a pre-booked chauffeur against a minicab booked at short notice – see MILE5’s comparison of Addison Lee against Uber in London.

What Running This Route Has Taught Us

The Stansted Express is honestly the right call for one person catching a daytime train into Liverpool Street – it’s faster and it’s cheaper, and Berners Street is only a further Underground hop from there. Where the car earns its keep is late at night: a driver unfamiliar with Fitzrovia’s one-way streets can get funnelled the wrong way around Oxford Street, while a driver who runs this route regularly comes in from the quieter side.

Your Driver at Stansted Airport

Stansted has one terminal building – there’s no North or South side to specify, unlike Gatwick. Your driver waits inside the arrivals hall holding a name board, tracking your flight so a delay shifts the pickup time rather than costing you the booking. The Express Set Down area sits right next to the terminal, and the £10 charge there is already built into the fixed price above. Check the arrivals board and MILE5‘s own Stansted Airport guide for terminal-specific detail on the day.
