All prices are fixed and all-inclusive, agreed before you travel, in both directions. Final quote depends on exact pickup or drop-off address, vehicle choice and any additional stops. No surge pricing, no hidden fees.

Every fare includes in-terminal meet-and-greet inside the Stansted arrivals hall, flight tracking so a delayed landing doesn’t cost you the booking, and 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time. The £10 Express Set Down charge at the terminal is absorbed in the price shown, and so is the ULEZ charge and the Congestion Charge where the journey into The Langham Hotel crosses into the zone – the airport itself sits outside both, the charges belong to the journey, not the pickup. Split seven ways, £300 works out at £42 a head for the whole run – a practical option for a family or group arriving together.

Opposite Broadcasting House

Portland Place puts The Langham directly across the road from Broadcasting House, the BBC’s headquarters, and that proximity shapes a good share of the hotel’s guests – production crews, presenters and executives in London for meetings a short walk from their door. The approach comes in via Regent Street and Oxford Circus, one of the busier junctions on the route, and MILE5 drivers who run this pickup regularly know how to time the approach to avoid the worst of the Oxford Circus congestion.

MILE5 also covers the Stansted to Marylebone Hotel page a short distance away, and for the wider district, our Marylebone route page.

One of Several Marylebone-Area Hotels

The Langham sits within the same district MILE5 covers for several other well-known hotels near Marylebone and Regent’s Park. MILE5 also runs our Landmark London transfer page and the St Pancras Renaissance pickup page, both within easy reach of the same part of London.

The Langham Hotel Chauffeur vs the Stansted Express vs a Hire Car

For one person travelling in daylight hours, the honest comparison starts with the train, not the car.

OptionJourney timeWorth knowing
MILE5 chauffeur55-75minDoor to door, timed to avoid the worst of Oxford Circus, fixed price
Stansted Express + Underground48min to Liverpool St + a changeWins on price for one person, but Portland Place needs a further Underground leg west – manageable without much luggage, less so with a case each
Hire car55-75minSimilar drive time, but parking around Portland Place is scarce, on top of the ULEZ and Congestion Charge – both already built into MILE5’s fixed price

For a family or group arriving together, the better comparison is a pre-booked chauffeur against a minicab booked at short notice – see MILE5’s comparison of Uber Exec against Uber Lux in London.

What Running This Route Has Taught Us

The Stansted Express is honestly the right call for one person catching a daytime train into Liverpool Street – it’s faster and it’s cheaper, and Portland Place is only a further Underground hop from there. Where the car earns its keep is timing the Oxford Circus approach: a driver unfamiliar with the junction can get caught in its slowest phase, while a driver who runs this route regularly knows which approach keeps the drop-off on schedule.

Your Driver at Stansted Airport

Stansted has one terminal building – there’s no North or South side to specify, unlike Gatwick. Your driver waits inside the arrivals hall holding a name board, tracking your flight so a delay shifts the pickup time rather than costing you the booking. The Express Set Down area sits right next to the terminal, and the £10 charge there is already built into the fixed price above. Check the arrivals board and MILE5‘s own Stansted Airport guide for terminal-specific detail on the day.
