Stansted Airport to Soho Transfer – Fixed Price, Right to the Pedestrianised Edge

A Stansted Airport to Soho transfer is a fixed-price Mercedes chauffeur, around 60 to 85 minutes door to door and from £200 one way, running in both directions 24/7. The return leg, Soho to Stansted Airport, is the same fixed fare and the same route in reverse.

This journey is one of the routes on our luxury Stansted airport transfer page, which covers every destination we drive from the airport with the same Mercedes fleet, the same met-at-arrivals pickup and the same fixed-price promise.

Soho sits close to 40 miles south-west of Stansted Airport – back to the London transfer list for every other district MILE5 covers. The route runs the M11 and the North Circular before crossing into the West End, and in normal traffic that’s around 60 to 85 minutes.

All prices are fixed and all-inclusive, agreed before you travel, in both directions. Final quote depends on exact pickup or drop-off address, vehicle choice and any additional stops. No surge pricing, no hidden fees.

Every fare includes in-terminal meet-and-greet inside the Stansted arrivals hall, flight tracking so a delayed landing doesn’t cost you the booking, and 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time. The £10 Express Set Down charge at the terminal is absorbed in the price shown, and so is the ULEZ charge and the Congestion Charge where the journey into Soho crosses into the zone – the airport itself sits outside both, the charges belong to the journey, not the pickup. Split seven ways, £298 works out at £43 a head for the whole run, straightforward for a family or a group heading to the same address.

Media, Restaurants and Theatre

Soho has been London’s media district for decades – post-production houses, advertising agencies and independent production companies still cluster around Wardour Street and Dean Street, even as the area’s reputation has shifted toward its restaurants and its edge of West End theatreland. It’s a working district by day and a dining and entertainment one by night, and both crowds arrive and leave at very different times, which shapes when MILE5 sees the heaviest demand on this route.

MILE5 also covers the neighbouring theatre district on the Stansted to Covent Garden page, a short walk from Soho’s eastern edge.

Why the Car Stops at the Edge

Soho’s core streets – Old Compton Street and the pedestrianised stretches around it – close to traffic in the evenings and on weekends, so the car genuinely cannot reach every address inside the district at every hour. What matters is knowing exactly where the edge falls and which corner puts you closest to your actual destination, and MILE5 confirms that before the day rather than leaving you to work it out on the pavement with luggage. For a hotel stay nearby, that same local knowledge covers the The Ritz Hotel arrival page and the The Athenaeum district page.

Soho Chauffeur vs the Stansted Express vs a Hire Car

For one person travelling in daylight hours, the honest comparison starts with the train, not the car.

OptionJourney timeWorth knowing
MILE5 chauffeur60-85minDoor to door as far as the pedestrianised zone allows, briefed on exactly where that edge falls
Stansted Express48min to Liverpool St + a changeWins on price and time to Liverpool Street itself, but Soho needs a further Tube change – add 20-30 minutes and it does nothing for luggage or a group
Hire car60-85minSimilar drive time, but you’re working out the pedestrianised streets and the West End one-way system yourself

For a group with luggage arriving outside the Stansted Express’s hours, the better comparison is a pre-booked chauffeur against an app-based ride hailed at the kerb – see MILE5’s comparison of Uber Exec against Uber Lux.

What Running This Route Has Taught Us

The Stansted Express is honestly the right call for one person catching a daytime train into Liverpool Street – it’s faster and it’s cheaper. Where the car earns its keep is at the edges: the first trains out of Liverpool Street leave at 03:40 on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays, 04:10 on Sundays and 04:40 Tuesday to Thursday, which is tight for the earliest departure wave out of Stansted, and the last train back from the airport leaves at 00:30 – hours before a Soho evening actually winds down. That gap, in both directions, is where a pre-booked fixed-price car earns its keep over a train ticket.

Your Driver at Stansted Airport

Stansted has one terminal building – there’s no North or South side to specify, unlike Gatwick. Your driver waits inside the arrivals hall holding a name board, tracking your flight so a delay shifts the pickup time rather than costing you the booking. The Express Set Down area sits right next to the terminal, and the £10 charge there is already built into the fixed price above. Check the arrivals board and MILE5’s own Stansted Airport guide for terminal-specific detail on the day.

Stansted to Soho Chauffeur – Frequently Asked Questions

How much is a Stansted Airport to Soho transfer?

Fares start from £200 one way in the E-Class, £293 in the S-Class and £298 in the V-Class, fixed and agreed before you travel, the same in both directions.

Do you cover Soho to Stansted Airport transfers too?

Yes – every booking runs in both directions at the same fixed price, whether you’re travelling out to Soho or making the Soho to Stansted Airport run afterwards.

Can the car actually reach my address inside Soho?

It depends on the time and the street – the pedestrianised core closes to traffic in the evenings and at weekends. MILE5 confirms the nearest reachable point to your address before the day rather than guessing on arrival.

How long does the drive from Stansted Airport to Soho take?

Around 60 to 85 minutes in normal traffic, depending on the time of day and West End congestion.

Is the Stansted Express cheaper than a chauffeur to Soho?

On price alone for one person, yes. It’s about 48 minutes to Liverpool Street, but Soho still needs a further Tube change, which adds time and doesn’t help with luggage or a group travelling together.

What happens if my flight into Stansted is delayed?

Nothing changes on your end. Every Soho booking is flight-tracked, so a delayed landing shifts your driver’s pickup time automatically rather than costing you the fare or the booking.

Can I book a larger vehicle for a family or group?

Yes – the V-Class seats up to seven with matching luggage space, and at £298 for the whole vehicle that works out at £43 a head for a full group.

Where does my driver meet me at Stansted Airport?

Inside the arrivals hall, holding a name board, for every Soho booking. Stansted has a single terminal, so there’s no terminal number or side to specify.
