Stansted Airport to Shoreditch Transfer – Fixed Price to Old Street and the Nightlife Strip
A Stansted Airport to Shoreditch transfer is a fixed-price Mercedes chauffeur, around 50 to 70 minutes door to door and from £184 one way, running in both directions 24/7. The return leg, Shoreditch to Stansted Airport, is the same fixed fare and the same route in reverse. Shoreditch runs on two different clocks – tech and creative offices during the day, and one of London’s busiest nightlife strips after dark – and MILE5’s bookings reflect both.
This journey is one of the routes on our Stansted airport transfers page, which covers every destination we drive from the airport with the same Mercedes fleet, the same met-at-arrivals pickup and the same fixed-price promise.

Shoreditch sits close to 33 miles south-west of Stansted Airport – see the Stansted to London hub for every other district MILE5 covers. The route runs the M11 before crossing into east London, and in normal traffic that’s around 50 to 70 minutes.

All prices are fixed and all-inclusive, agreed before you travel, in both directions. Final quote depends on exact pickup or drop-off address, vehicle choice and any additional stops. No surge pricing, no hidden fees.
Every fare includes in-terminal meet-and-greet inside the Stansted arrivals hall, flight tracking so a delayed landing doesn’t cost you the booking, and 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time. The £10 Express Set Down charge at the terminal is absorbed in the price shown, and so is the ULEZ charge and the Congestion Charge where the journey into Shoreditch crosses into the zone – the airport itself sits outside both, the charges belong to the journey, not the pickup. Split seven ways, £273 works out at £39 a head for the whole run, useful for a group heading out for the night.
Tech and Creative Offices, and the Old Street Roundabout
Shoreditch grew into the centre of London’s tech and creative scene around what’s still informally called Silicon Roundabout, and the area holds a dense cluster of startups, agencies and studios that generate a steady flow of daytime business bookings. The Old Street junction itself was rebuilt in 2019-2020, with the old roundabout replaced by a three-way layout and two-way traffic, and a driver unfamiliar with the current layout can lose real time working out which turn leads where.
MILE5 covers Shoreditch alongside the neighbouring City, Clerkenwell and east London districts, including the drive to The City of London, our Clerkenwell transfer and our Hackney page.
For the station itself, see the Liverpool Street arrival page.
The Nightlife Economy and Late Arrivals
Once the offices empty out, Shoreditch becomes one of London’s busiest nightlife strips, with Brick Lane a short walk away and bars and clubs running well past midnight most nights of the week. That means a genuinely different booking pattern to most of MILE5’s other routes: late-evening pickups heading out, and equally often, an early-hours drop-off home or a delayed flight landing in the small hours. MILE5 treats both as a standard part of the Shoreditch route, not an exception that needs special arranging.
Shoreditch Chauffeur vs the Stansted Express vs a Hire Car
For one person travelling in daylight hours, the honest comparison starts with the train, not the car.
| Option | Journey time | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| MILE5 chauffeur | 50-70min | Door to door, fixed price, comfortable with the Old Street roundabout and late-night pickups |
| Stansted Express + change | 48min to Liverpool St + a change | Wins on price and time to Liverpool Street itself, which sits close by – a strong option for one person during the day, weaker for a late-night group |
| Hire car | 50-70min | Similar drive time, but parking near Old Street or Brick Lane on a Friday or Saturday night is genuinely difficult – and the ULEZ is already built into MILE5’s fixed price |
For a group heading out for the night, or arriving outside the Stansted Express’s hours, the better comparison is a pre-booked chauffeur against a minicab booked at short notice – see MILE5’s comparison of Addison Lee against Uber in London.
What Running This Route Has Taught Us
The Stansted Express is honestly the right call for one person catching a daytime train into Liverpool Street, which sits close to Shoreditch – it’s faster and it’s cheaper. Where the car earns its keep is at the edges: the first trains out of Liverpool Street leave at 03:40 on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays, 04:10 on Sundays and 04:40 Tuesday to Thursday, which is tight for the earliest departure wave out of Stansted, and the last train back from the airport leaves at 00:30, so a delayed late arrival lands into no train at all. That gap, in both directions, is where a pre-booked fixed-price car earns its keep over a train ticket – and on a route where the busiest hours are often after midnight, a fixed price agreed in advance beats surge pricing on a Saturday night out.
Your Driver at Stansted Airport
Stansted has one terminal building – there’s no North or South side to specify, unlike Gatwick. Your driver waits inside the arrivals hall holding a name board, tracking your flight so a delay shifts the pickup time rather than costing you the booking. The Express Set Down area sits right next to the terminal, and the £10 charge there is already built into the fixed price above. Check the arrivals board and MILE5’s own Stansted Airport guide for terminal-specific detail on the day.

How much is a Stansted Airport to Shoreditch transfer?
Fares start from £184 one way in the E-Class, £269 in the S-Class and £273 in the V-Class, fixed and agreed before you travel, the same in both directions.
Do you cover Shoreditch to Stansted Airport transfers too?
Yes – every booking runs in both directions at the same fixed price, whether you’re travelling out to Shoreditch or making the Shoreditch to Stansted Airport run afterwards.
Can you collect late at night or in the early hours?
Yes – late-night and early-hours pickups are a standard part of this route, whether that’s heading out for the evening or catching an early flight the morning after.
How long does the drive from Stansted Airport to Shoreditch take?
Around 50 to 70 minutes in normal traffic, running the M11 before crossing into east London.

Does the fixed price change on a busy Friday or Saturday night?
No – the fare is fixed and agreed before you travel, so it stays the same regardless of how busy Shoreditch’s nightlife is that night.
What happens if my flight into Stansted is delayed?
Nothing changes on your end. Every Shoreditch booking is flight-tracked, so a delayed landing shifts your driver’s pickup time automatically rather than costing you the fare or the booking.
Can I book a larger vehicle for a group heading out together?
Yes – the V-Class seats up to seven with matching luggage space, and at £273 for the whole vehicle that works out at £39 a head for a full group.
