Marylebone sits close to 41 miles south-west of Stansted Airport, one of the destinations covered on our central London route list. The route runs the M11 and the North Circular before crossing into central London, and in normal traffic that’s around 60 to 85 minutes.

All prices are fixed and all-inclusive, agreed before you travel, in both directions. Final quote depends on exact pickup or drop-off address, vehicle choice and any additional stops. No surge pricing, no hidden fees.
Every fare includes in-terminal meet-and-greet inside the Stansted arrivals hall, flight tracking so a delayed landing doesn’t cost you the booking, and 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time. The £10 Express Set Down charge at the terminal is absorbed in the price shown, and so is the ULEZ charge and the Congestion Charge where the journey into Marylebone crosses into the zone – the airport itself sits outside both, the charges belong to the journey, not the pickup. Split seven ways, £301 works out at £43 a head for the whole run, straightforward for a family or a group heading to the same address.
Harley Street, the Medical Quarter and the High Street
Marylebone runs two distinct kinds of traffic that most London postcodes don’t have to think about together. Harley Street and the surrounding medical quarter bring a steady flow of appointment-timed journeys – consultants, clinics, specialist appointments where the client cannot afford to be late and cannot afford to arrive stressed either. A few streets over, Marylebone High Street and the village-like grid around it draw a different crowd entirely, there for the independent shops and restaurants rather than a 2pm appointment. MILE5 treats both the same way: a fixed pickup window built around your actual schedule, not a generic estimate.
MILE5 covers Marylebone alongside the wider central cluster, including our Fitzrovia transfer, the Stansted to Bloomsbury page and transfers to Holborn.
Marylebone is also home to a cluster of well-known hotels, and MILE5 runs the same fixed-price transfer to the The Langham Hotel page for this area, our The Marylebone Hotel hotel transfer and the The Landmark London page for this area.
Why Appointment Times Are the Real Timing Constraint
A missed Harley Street appointment is rarely just an inconvenience – clinics run tight schedules and a late arrival can mean a lost slot altogether. MILE5 builds pickup timing around your appointment time itself, working backwards from when you need to be at the door rather than simply estimating drive time from the airport. If you’re travelling to or from a specific appointment, mention it when you book so the timing is built around it properly.
Marylebone Chauffeur vs the Stansted Express vs a Hire Car
For one person travelling in daylight hours, the honest comparison starts with the train, not the car.
| Option | Journey time | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| MILE5 chauffeur | 60-85min | Door to door, fixed price, timing built around your appointment rather than a generic estimate |
| Stansted Express | 48min to Liverpool St + a change | Wins on price and time to Liverpool Street itself, but Marylebone needs a further Tube or taxi change – add 20-30 minutes and it does nothing for luggage or a group |
| Hire car | 60-85min | Similar drive time, but you’re finding parking around Harley Street or the high street yourself, and a clinic rarely has anywhere close by |
For a group with luggage or a fixed appointment to make, the better comparison is a pre-booked chauffeur against a minicab booked at short notice – see MILE5’s comparison of Addison Lee against Uber in London.
What Running This Route Has Taught Us
The Stansted Express is honestly the right call for one person catching a daytime train into Liverpool Street – it’s faster and it’s cheaper. Where the car earns its keep is at the edges: the first trains out of London don’t leave until 05:30, or 06:00 Tuesday to Thursday, which misses check-in for the earliest departure wave out of Stansted, and the last train back from the airport leaves at 00:30, so a delayed late arrival lands into no train at all. That gap, in both directions, is where a pre-booked fixed-price car earns its keep over a train ticket – and for a Harley Street appointment, arriving stressed from a rushed Tube change is its own kind of cost.
Your Driver at Stansted Airport
Stansted has one terminal building – there’s no North or South side to specify, unlike Gatwick. Your driver waits inside the arrivals hall holding a name board, tracking your flight so a delay shifts the pickup time rather than costing you the booking. The Express Set Down area sits right next to the terminal, and the £10 charge there is already built into the fixed price above. Check the arrivals board and MILE5’s own Stansted Airport guide for terminal-specific detail on the day.

Stansted to Marylebone Chauffeur – Frequently Asked Questions
How much is a Stansted Airport to Marylebone transfer?
Fares start from £202 one way in the E-Class, £295 in the S-Class and £301 in the V-Class, fixed and agreed before you travel, the same in both directions.
Do you cover Marylebone to Stansted Airport transfers too?
Yes – every booking runs in both directions at the same fixed price, whether you’re travelling out to Marylebone or making the Marylebone to Stansted Airport run afterwards.
Can you time a pickup around a Harley Street appointment?
Yes – mention your appointment time when you book and MILE5 will work the pickup backwards from it, rather than quoting a generic drive-time estimate.
How long does the drive from Stansted Airport to Marylebone take?
Around 60 to 85 minutes in normal traffic, depending on the time of day and route congestion.
Is the Stansted Express cheaper than a chauffeur to Marylebone?
On price alone for one person, yes. It’s about 48 minutes to Liverpool Street, but Marylebone still needs a further Tube or taxi change, which adds time and doesn’t help with luggage, a group, or an appointment you can’t be late for.
What happens if my flight into Stansted is delayed?
Nothing changes on your end. Every Marylebone booking is flight-tracked, so a delayed landing shifts your driver’s pickup time automatically rather than costing you the fare or the booking.
Can I book a larger vehicle for a family or group?
Yes – the V-Class seats up to seven with matching luggage space, and at £301 for the whole vehicle that works out at £43 a head for a full group.
Where does my driver meet me at Stansted Airport?
Inside the arrivals hall, holding a name board, for every Marylebone booking. Stansted has a single terminal, so there’s no terminal number or side to specify.
