Stansted Airport to London Bridge Transfer – Fixed Price to the South Bank
A Stansted Airport to London Bridge transfer is a fixed-price Mercedes chauffeur, around 55 to 75 minutes door to door and from £196 one way, running in both directions 24/7. The return leg, London Bridge to Stansted Airport, is the same fixed fare and the same route in reverse. This page covers the south bank around London Bridge station itself – Borough Market, the Shard cluster and Guy’s Hospital – not any single hotel in the area.
This journey is one of the routes on our Stansted airport chauffeur page, which covers every destination we drive from the airport with the same Mercedes fleet, the same met-at-arrivals pickup and the same fixed-price promise.

All prices are fixed and all-inclusive, agreed before you travel, in both directions. Final quote depends on exact pickup or drop-off address, vehicle choice and any additional stops. No surge pricing, no hidden fees.
Every fare includes in-terminal meet-and-greet inside the Stansted arrivals hall, flight tracking so a delayed landing doesn’t cost you the booking, and 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time. The £10 Express Set Down charge at the terminal is absorbed in the price shown, and so is the ULEZ charge and the Congestion Charge where the journey into London Bridge crosses into the zone – the airport itself sits outside both, the charges belong to the journey, not the pickup. Split seven ways, £291 works out at £42 a head for the whole run, straightforward for a family or a group heading to the same address.
Borough Market, the Shard Cluster and Guy’s Hospital
The south bank around London Bridge is one of the densest mixes of destinations MILE5 covers from Stansted. Borough Market has run on this site for centuries and remains one of London’s best-known food markets; the Shard cluster next to the station is now a landmark in its own right, with the View from The Shard observation deck and a run of restaurants and hotels including the Shangri-La; and Guy’s Hospital, one of London’s largest teaching hospitals, sits a short walk from the station concourse. London Bridge station itself is a major National Rail and Underground interchange, which makes it a common request for onward Thameslink and Jubilee or Northern line connections.
MILE5 covers London Bridge alongside the nearby Docklands, events and riverside destinations, including our Canary Wharf transfer, our Stratford transfer service, how we price The O2 and the Greenwich pickup page.
For a stay at one of the area’s hotels, MILE5 runs the same fixed-price transfer to the London Marriott Hotel County Hall arrival page and see our Shangri-La at The Shard transfer.
Hospital Visits and South Bank Business Travel
Guy’s Hospital brings a different kind of booking to this route – patients and family travelling for appointments or admissions who need a fixed price and a driver who tracks the flight rather than a metered fare on an unfamiliar journey. The area around the station has also grown into a genuine business district in its own right, with a cluster of major employers based at and around London Bridge, which means the route sees a steady mix of hospital visits, tourism and weekday business travel rather than any one type of trip.
London Bridge Chauffeur vs the Stansted Express vs a Hire Car
For one person travelling in daylight hours, the honest comparison starts with the train, not the car.
| Option | Journey time | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| MILE5 chauffeur | 55-75min | Door to door, fixed price, no change required at either end |
| Stansted Express + change | 48min to Liverpool St + a change | Wins on price and time to Liverpool Street itself, but London Bridge needs a further Tube or rail change – add 15-20 minutes and it does nothing for luggage or a group |
| Hire car | 55-75min | Similar drive time, but you’re finding parking near the station and the Shard cluster yourself, on top of central London’s congestion charge and ULEZ, both already built into MILE5’s fixed price |
For a group with luggage or an early hospital appointment outside the Stansted Express’s hours, the better comparison is a pre-booked chauffeur against a minicab booked at short notice – see MILE5’s look at why travellers choose a chauffeur over Uber.
What Running This Route Has Taught Us
The Stansted Express is honestly the right call for one person catching a daytime train into Liverpool Street – it’s faster and it’s cheaper. Where the car earns its keep is at the edges: the first trains out of Liverpool Street leave at 03:40 on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays, 04:10 on Sundays and 04:40 Tuesday to Thursday, which is tight for the earliest departure wave out of Stansted, and the last train back from the airport leaves at 00:30, so a delayed late arrival lands into no train at all. That gap, in both directions, is where a pre-booked fixed-price car earns its keep over a train ticket plus a Tube change – and for a hospital appointment at Guy’s, a driver who tracks a delayed flight is worth more than the saving.
Your Driver at Stansted Airport
Stansted has one terminal building – there’s no North or South side to specify, unlike Gatwick. Your driver waits inside the arrivals hall holding a name board, tracking your flight so a delay shifts the pickup time rather than costing you the booking. The Express Set Down area sits right next to the terminal, and the £10 charge there is already built into the fixed price above. Check the arrivals board and MILE5’s own Stansted Airport guide for terminal-specific detail on the day.

Stansted to London Bridge Chauffeur – Frequently Asked Questions
How much is a Stansted Airport to London Bridge transfer?
Fares start from £196 one way in the E-Class, £286 in the S-Class and £291 in the V-Class, fixed and agreed before you travel, the same in both directions.
Do you cover London Bridge to Stansted Airport transfers too?
Yes – every booking runs in both directions at the same fixed price, whether you’re travelling out to London Bridge or making the London Bridge to Stansted Airport run afterwards.
Is this page about a specific hotel?
No – this page covers the London Bridge area generally, including Borough Market, the Shard cluster and Guy’s Hospital. MILE5 also runs fixed-price transfers to specific hotels nearby, including the Shangri-La at The Shard and the Marriott Hotel County Hall.
How long does the drive from Stansted Airport to London Bridge take?
Around 55 to 75 minutes in normal traffic, running the M11 before crossing the river.
Is the Stansted Express cheaper than a chauffeur to London Bridge?
On price alone for one person, yes. It’s about 48 minutes to Liverpool Street, but London Bridge still needs a further Tube or rail change, which adds time and doesn’t help with luggage or a hospital visit.
Do you handle transfers for hospital appointments at Guy’s?
Yes – flight-tracked pickup and a fixed price both matter more on a hospital run, where an unpredictable fare or a missed connection is the last thing a patient or family needs.
What happens if my flight into Stansted is delayed?
Nothing changes on your end. Every London Bridge booking is flight-tracked, so a delayed landing shifts your driver’s pickup time automatically rather than costing you the fare or the booking.
Can I book a larger vehicle for a family or group?
Yes – the V-Class seats up to seven with matching luggage space, and at £291 for the whole vehicle that works out at £42 a head for a full group.
