Every fare includes in-terminal meet-and-greet inside the Stansted arrivals hall, flight tracking so a delayed landing doesn’t cost you the booking, and 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time. The £10 Express Set Down charge at the terminal is absorbed in the price shown, and so is the ULEZ charge and the Congestion Charge where the journey into Knightsbridge crosses into the zone – the airport itself sits outside both, the charges belong to the journey, not the pickup. Split seven ways, £302 works out at £43 a head for the whole run, straightforward for a family or a group heading to the same address.

Department Stores, International Shoppers and Beauchamp Place

Knightsbridge runs on the Brompton Road – Harvey Nichols anchors one end, and the department stores and flagship boutiques along the way draw a genuinely international shopping crowd, heaviest around the seasonal sales and through the summer months. A block over, Beauchamp Place carries a quieter run of independent boutiques and restaurants that most visitors never find without knowing to look. It’s a shopping district first, with a residential and hotel population built around it, which shapes both the traffic pattern and the loading arrangements MILE5’s drivers work around.

MILE5 covers Knightsbridge alongside the wider Prime Central West cluster, including Mayfair from Stansted Airport, the drive to Belgravia and our Harrods page.

Why Drop-off Timing Matters on the Brompton Road

Delivery bays and valet stands along the Brompton Road get busy through the shopping day, and a driver who doesn’t know which side street to use ends up circling rather than dropping you at the door. MILE5 confirms the correct approach for your hotel or address in advance, including for a stay at see our Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park transfer or the The Berkeley arrival page, both a short walk from the main shopping stretch.

Knightsbridge Chauffeur vs the Stansted Express vs a Hire Car

For one person travelling in daylight hours, the honest comparison starts with the train, not the car.

OptionJourney timeWorth knowing
MILE5 chauffeur60-85minDoor to door, fixed price, briefed on Brompton Road drop-off and loading-bay timing
Stansted Express48min to Liverpool St + a changeWins on price and time to Liverpool Street itself, but Knightsbridge needs a further Tube change – add 20-30 minutes and it does nothing for luggage or a group
Hire car60-85minSimilar drive time, but you’re finding Knightsbridge’s loading bays and residents’ parking yourself

For a group with shopping and luggage together, or anyone arriving outside the Stansted Express’s hours, the better comparison is a pre-booked chauffeur against an app-based ride hailed at the kerb – see MILE5’s comparison of Addison Lee against Uber.

What Running This Route Has Taught Us

The Stansted Express is honestly the right call for one person catching a daytime train into Liverpool Street – it’s faster and it’s cheaper. Where the car earns its keep is at the edges: the first trains out of London don’t leave until 05:30, or 06:00 Tuesday to Thursday, which misses check-in for the earliest departure wave out of Stansted, and the last train back from the airport leaves at 00:30, so a delayed late arrival lands into no train at all. That gap, in both directions, is where a pre-booked fixed-price car earns its keep over a train ticket – especially with shopping bags to carry as well as luggage.

Your Driver at Stansted Airport

Stansted has one terminal building – there’s no North or South side to specify, unlike Gatwick. Your driver waits inside the arrivals hall holding a name board, tracking your flight so a delay shifts the pickup time rather than costing you the booking. The Express Set Down area sits right next to the terminal, and the £10 charge there is already built into the fixed price above. Check the arrivals board and MILE5’s own Stansted Airport guide for terminal-specific detail on the day.

Yes – the V-Class seats up to seven with matching luggage space, and at £302 for the whole vehicle that works out at £43 a head for a full group.

Where does my driver meet me at Stansted Airport?

Inside the arrivals hall, holding a name board, for every Knightsbridge booking. Stansted has a single terminal, so there’s no terminal number or side to specify.
