Stansted Airport to Camden Transfer – Fixed Price to the Market and the Music Venues

A Stansted Airport to Camden transfer is a fixed-price Mercedes chauffeur, around 65 to 90 minutes door to door and from £213 one way, running in both directions 24/7. The return leg, Camden to Stansted Airport, is the same fixed fare and the same route in reverse. Camden’s traffic skews younger and leisure-led – Camden Market and the borough’s live music venues drive most of the bookings on this route.

This journey is one of the routes on our Stansted airport chauffeur page, which covers every destination we drive from the airport with the same Mercedes fleet, the same met-at-arrivals pickup and the same fixed-price promise.

Camden sits close to 45 miles south-west of Stansted Airport – see our full London route list from Stansted for every other district MILE5 covers. The route runs the M11 and the North Circular before crossing into north London, and in normal traffic that’s around 65 to 90 minutes.

All prices are fixed and all-inclusive, agreed before you travel, in both directions. Final quote depends on exact pickup or drop-off address, vehicle choice and any additional stops. No surge pricing, no hidden fees.

Every fare includes in-terminal meet-and-greet inside the Stansted arrivals hall, flight tracking so a delayed landing doesn’t cost you the booking, and 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time. The £10 Express Set Down charge at the terminal is absorbed in the price shown, and so is the ULEZ charge and the Congestion Charge where the journey into Camden crosses into the zone – the airport itself sits outside both, the charges belong to the journey, not the pickup. Split seven ways, £317 works out at £45 a head for the whole run, straightforward for a group heading to the same gig or market trip.

Camden Market and the Music Venues

Camden Market and Camden Lock together make up one of London’s most-visited markets, and the borough has been a live music stronghold for decades – the Roundhouse, the Electric Ballroom and KOKO all sit within a short walk of the Lock, alongside a long-running alternative fashion and record-shop scene that still defines the area. That mix draws a noticeably younger crowd than most of MILE5’s other London routes, and a large share of bookings are built around a specific event rather than an office or a hotel stay.

MILE5 covers Camden alongside the other north London stations and districts nearby, including our Euston page, the fixed-price run to Kings Cross and transfers to Islington.

Younger Leisure Traffic and Gig Timings

A booking built around a gig or a night out at one of Camden’s venues has different requirements to a standard airport run: the pickup time on the way home depends on when a specific show actually finishes, not a fixed schedule, and finding the right spot outside a busy venue at closing time takes local knowledge. MILE5 treats a gig-night booking as a normal part of the Camden route, adjusting the pickup point and timing around the venue rather than asking the group to find their own way to a standard collection point.

Camden Chauffeur vs the Stansted Express vs a Hire Car

For one person travelling in daylight hours, the honest comparison starts with the train, not the car.

OptionJourney timeWorth knowing
MILE5 chauffeur65-90minDoor to door, fixed price, timed around a gig or market visit rather than a fixed schedule
Stansted Express + change48min to Liverpool St + a changeWins on price and time to Liverpool Street itself, but Camden needs a further Tube change – workable for one person, weaker for a group heading home after a late show
Hire car65-90minSimilar drive time, but parking near the Market or a venue on a gig night is genuinely difficult, and the ULEZ applies too – already built into MILE5’s fixed price

For a group heading to a show, or arriving outside the Stansted Express’s hours, the better comparison is a pre-booked chauffeur against a premium app-hailed car – see MILE5’s comparison of Uber Exec against Uber Lux in London.

What Running This Route Has Taught Us

The Stansted Express is honestly the right call for one person catching a daytime train into Liverpool Street – it’s faster and it’s cheaper. Where the car earns its keep is at the edges: the first trains out of Liverpool Street leave at 03:40 on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays, 04:10 on Sundays and 04:40 Tuesday to Thursday, which is tight for the earliest departure wave out of Stansted, and the last train back from the airport leaves at 00:30, so a delayed late arrival lands into no train at all. That gap, in both directions, is where a pre-booked fixed-price car earns its keep over a train ticket plus a Tube change – and getting a group away from a venue the moment a show ends beats trying to find one at a packed Tube station afterwards.

Your Driver at Stansted Airport

Stansted has one terminal building – there’s no North or South side to specify, unlike Gatwick. Your driver waits inside the arrivals hall holding a name board, tracking your flight so a delay shifts the pickup time rather than costing you the booking. The Express Set Down area sits right next to the terminal, and the £10 charge there is already built into the fixed price above. Check the arrivals board and MILE5’s own Stansted Airport guide for terminal-specific detail on the day.

Stansted to Camden Chauffeur – Frequently Asked Questions

How much is a Stansted Airport to Camden transfer?

Fares start from £213 one way in the E-Class, £310 in the S-Class and £317 in the V-Class, fixed and agreed before you travel, the same in both directions.

Do you cover Camden to Stansted Airport transfers too?

Yes – every booking runs in both directions at the same fixed price, whether you’re travelling out to Camden or making the Camden to Stansted Airport run afterwards.

Can you time a pickup around when a gig finishes?

Yes – MILE5 can plan the pickup around a specific venue and show time rather than a fixed schedule, which matters on a night when the finish time isn’t certain in advance.

How long does the drive from Stansted Airport to Camden take?

Around 65 to 90 minutes in normal traffic, running the M11 and the North Circular before crossing into north London.

Is the Stansted Express cheaper than a chauffeur to Camden?

On price alone for one person, yes. It’s about 48 minutes to Liverpool Street, but Camden still needs a further Tube change, which adds time and isn’t ideal for a group heading home late.

Can I book a stop at Camden Market on the way?

Yes – tell MILE5 what you have planned and the driver can work a market stop into the journey where the timing allows.

What happens if my flight into Stansted is delayed?

Nothing changes on your end. Every Camden booking is flight-tracked, so a delayed landing shifts your driver’s pickup time automatically rather than costing you the fare or the booking.

Can I book a larger vehicle for a group heading to a show?

Yes – the V-Class seats up to seven with matching luggage space, and at £317 for the whole vehicle that works out at £45 a head for a full group.
