Stansted Airport to Battersea Transfer – Fixed Price to the Power Station and the Park

A Stansted Airport to Battersea transfer is a fixed-price Mercedes chauffeur, around 60 to 80 minutes door to door and from £206 one way, running in both directions 24/7. The return leg, Battersea to Stansted Airport, is the same fixed fare and the same route in reverse. Battersea’s two landmarks – the redeveloped Power Station and the park beside it – sit side by side on the south bank, and the river crossings shape this route more than the raw mileage does.

This journey is one of the routes on our Stansted airport transfers page, which covers every destination we drive from the airport with the same Mercedes fleet, the same met-at-arrivals pickup and the same fixed-price promise.

Battersea sits close to 42 miles south-west of Stansted Airport – see our full London route list from Stansted for every other district MILE5 covers. The route runs the M11 before crossing central London, and in normal traffic that’s around 60 to 80 minutes.

All prices are fixed and all-inclusive, agreed before you travel, in both directions. Final quote depends on exact pickup or drop-off address, vehicle choice and any additional stops. No surge pricing, no hidden fees.

Every fare includes in-terminal meet-and-greet inside the Stansted arrivals hall, flight tracking so a delayed landing doesn’t cost you the booking, and 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time. The £10 Express Set Down charge at the terminal is absorbed in the price shown, and so is the ULEZ charge and the Congestion Charge where the journey into Battersea crosses into the zone – the airport itself sits outside both, the charges belong to the journey, not the pickup. Split seven ways, £306 works out at £44 a head for the whole run – one car for a group visiting the Power Station together rather than several separate fares.

The Power Station Development and the Park

Battersea Power Station’s four chimneys are one of the most recognisable shapes on the London skyline, and the building itself reopened a few years ago as a shopping, dining and residential complex built inside the old turbine halls – a genuinely unusual thing to visit, since so much of the structure is original. Battersea Park sits a short walk along the river, with its own boating lake and one of London’s few dedicated cycle circuits. Between the two, this is one of the more leisure-focused destinations on MILE5’s London list rather than a business address.

MILE5 covers Battersea alongside the neighbouring south-west London riverside districts, including the drive to Fulham, the Wandsworth pickup page, the Clapham chauffeur transfer and how we price Vauxhall.

River Crossings Decide the Route, Not the Distance

Once a Battersea booking crosses into south London, which bridge the route uses matters more than how many miles are left on the clock – Chelsea Bridge, Battersea Bridge and Vauxhall Bridge all serve the area, but each has different traffic patterns and different restrictions at different times of day. Two addresses in Battersea that look close together on a map can genuinely take different amounts of time depending on which crossing the route takes, which is why MILE5 plans the bridge, not just the postcode.

Battersea Chauffeur vs the Stansted Express vs a Hire Car

For one person travelling in daylight hours, the honest comparison starts with the train, not the car.

OptionJourney timeWorth knowing
MILE5 chauffeur60-80minDoor to door, fixed price, route planned around the right river crossing for the exact address
Stansted Express + Underground48min to Liverpool St + a changeWins on price for one person, but Battersea needs a further Underground leg from Liverpool Street – workable solo, less so with luggage or a group
Hire car60-80minSimilar drive time, but parking near the Power Station on a weekend is genuinely difficult, on top of the ULEZ and Congestion Charge – both already built into MILE5’s fixed price

For a group visiting the Power Station together, the better comparison is a pre-booked chauffeur against a minicab booked at short notice – see MILE5’s comparison of Uber Exec against Uber Lux in London.

What Running This Route Has Taught Us

The Stansted Express is honestly the right call for one person catching a daytime train into Liverpool Street – it’s faster and it’s cheaper, and Battersea is only a short further hop by Underground from there. Where the car earns its keep is at the edges: the first trains out of Liverpool Street leave at 03:40 on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays, 04:10 on Sundays and 04:40 Tuesday to Thursday, which is tight for the earliest departure wave out of Stansted, and the last train back from the airport leaves at 00:30, so a delayed late arrival lands into no train at all. That gap, in both directions, is where a pre-booked fixed-price car earns its keep over a train-and-Underground combination – and for a family visiting the Power Station together, one car that already knows which bridge to take beats working it out on the day.

Your Driver at Stansted Airport

Stansted has one terminal building – there’s no North or South side to specify, unlike Gatwick. Your driver waits inside the arrivals hall holding a name board, tracking your flight so a delay shifts the pickup time rather than costing you the booking. The Express Set Down area sits right next to the terminal, and the £10 charge there is already built into the fixed price above. Check the arrivals board and MILE5‘s own Stansted Airport guide for terminal-specific detail on the day.

Stansted to Battersea Chauffeur – Frequently Asked Questions

How much is a Stansted Airport to Battersea transfer?

Fares start from £206 one way in the E-Class, £300 in the S-Class and £306 in the V-Class, fixed and agreed before you travel, the same in both directions.

Do you cover Battersea to Stansted Airport transfers too?

Yes – every booking runs in both directions at the same fixed price, whether you’re travelling out to Battersea or making the Battersea to Stansted Airport run afterwards.

Does this page cover the Power Station shopping and dining complex?

Yes – the redeveloped Battersea Power Station and Battersea Park are both covered here. Tell MILE5 the exact entrance or address and the driver will plan the route around it.

How long does the drive from Stansted Airport to Battersea take?

Around 60 to 80 minutes in normal traffic, running the M11 before crossing central London – the exact river crossing used can affect the final few minutes.

Is the Stansted Express cheaper than a chauffeur to Battersea?

On price alone for one person, yes. It’s about 48 minutes to Liverpool Street, but Battersea needs a further Underground change from there, which doesn’t help with luggage or a group.

Why does the bridge used matter more than the distance?

Chelsea Bridge, Battersea Bridge and Vauxhall Bridge all serve the area but carry different traffic at different times, so MILE5 plans the crossing, not just the postcode, when timing a Battersea pickup.

What happens if my flight into Stansted is delayed?

Nothing changes on your end. Every Battersea booking is flight-tracked, so a delayed landing shifts your driver’s pickup time automatically rather than costing you the fare or the booking.

Can I book a larger vehicle for a group visiting together?

Yes – the V-Class seats up to seven with matching luggage space, and at £306 for the whole vehicle that works out at £44 a head for a full group.
