Your Luton Airport Chauffeur, Met at Arrivals
A Luton Airport chauffeur with MILE5 is a fixed-price Mercedes transfer from £82 one way, met inside the arrivals hall and running to any address in London or across the UK, 24/7 in both directions. The price is agreed before the car moves – no meter, no surge, and the £9 Drop Off Zone charge already included. The same fixed-price chauffeur service runs from Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and London City, and between any two London airports.
| 15+ Years Operating | 50,000+ Transfers Completed | 5★ Google Rating | 009161 TfL Licence |
MILE5 has run airport transfers for 15+ years and more than 50,000 journeys, and its Luton Airport transfers work the same way as the rest of the network: a TfL-licensed operator (licence 009161), a Mercedes fleet, and a fixed price in writing before you travel. The 5-star Google rating above links through to the reviews themselves. Luton sits at junction 10 of the M1, which is the whole story of its catchment – straight down the motorway into north-west London, straight up it to Milton Keynes and Northampton, and cross-country on the A505 towards Hitchin and Cambridge.
Luton Airport Chauffeur Pricing
| Vehicle | Capacity | From | Book |
|---|---|---|---|
| E-Class | Up to 3 passengers | from £82 one way | Book |
| S-Class | Up to 3 passengers, premium | from £115 one way | Book |
| V-Class | Up to 7 passengers | from £110 one way | Book |
All prices are fixed and all-inclusive, agreed before you travel, in both directions. Final quote depends on exact pickup or drop-off address, vehicle choice and any additional stops. No surge pricing, no hidden fees.
Every fare includes meet-and-greet inside the terminal, flight tracking, 60 minutes of complimentary waiting, luggage assistance and child seats at an extra charge. The £9 Drop Off Zone charge is absorbed in the price, and where a journey into London crosses the ULEZ or the Congestion Charge zone, those are absorbed too – the airport itself sits outside both, so the charges belong to the journey, not the pickup.
Packing for the flight? Luton still applies a 100ml limit on liquids, and our Luton liquid rules guide explains what counts and the exceptions for babies and medicines.
Where MILE5 Takes You From Luton
The network splits into three route families, each with its own hub and 40 destination pages. Luton Airport hotel transfers cover the London hotels MILE5 delivers to most – Park Lane, Knightsbridge, the South Bank, the Strand and the rest of the five-star map. Luton Airport to central London transfers cover the districts themselves, from St Pancras and the City out to Notting Hill and Greenwich. Luton Airport long-distance transfers cover everything beyond London: Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire on the doorstep, the M1 corridor north, and national runs like the Cotswolds and Silverstone.
Popular Luton Routes
The eight routes booked most often tell you what Luton is actually for. Luton to Cambridge (from £197) runs cross-country on the A505 – about 40 miles with no motorway and no direct train, which is why the car wins that run so clearly. Luton to St Pancras (from £193) is the honest one: the station is where the airport’s own rail line lands, and the page says plainly when the train is the better call. Luton to Milton Keynes (from £170) is 20 minutes up the M1 and the busiest corporate run on the sheet. Luton to Canary Wharf (from £232) carries the banking traffic, and Luton to Wembley (from £185) fills every event weekend – the stadium sits just off the same M1 approach the airport uses.
Closer in, Luton to Dunstable (from £91) is one of the shortest runs MILE5 sells from the airport, a fixed price to the town most minicab quotes treat as an afterthought. Luton to Silverstone (from £200) exists because Luton is the closest London airport to the circuit, and Luton to Windsor (from £209) carries the castle-and-Legoland traffic west around the M25.
Private Aviation at Luton
Luton is one of the UK’s busiest private-jet airports, and its two fixed-base operators – Harrods Aviation and Signature Flight Support – run their own terminals on the airfield, away from the main building. MILE5 collects from both. A private-terminal pickup works differently from an airline arrival: there is no arrivals board to track, so the booking runs on your handling agent’s timings, and the car waits on the FBO’s own forecourt rather than in the public Drop Off Zone. If you are landing with Harrods Aviation or Signature, name the FBO in the booking notes and the driver will be met at the right building, not the terminal.
Who Uses a MILE5 Luton Airport Chauffeur
Luton has a good rail link and a business-aviation side that most passengers never see, so the people who book a chauffeur here do it for specific reasons. Here is how a MILE5 Luton chauffeur transfer works for each type of passenger.
Solo Business Traveller
The DART and the train reach St Pancras quickly, then leave you at a station. If the office is in the City or Canary Wharf, or the meeting is in Mayfair, that is a second journey. An E-Class chauffeur is inside the arrivals hall with a name board, the M1 is planned around your landing time, and the cabin is quiet enough for calls.
Our Luton to St Pancras route is from £193 and Luton to Canary Wharf from £232. Companies with regular Luton traffic use a MILE5 business account for monthly billing and multi-booker access.
Family Returning from Holiday
Every rail journey from Luton is two stages, DART then train, and the change comes with cases at whatever hour the flight lands. Five people and a pushchair do not want it. The V-Class seats up to seven with a full luggage load, child seats are fitted before pickup, and your chauffeur is inside the hall whatever time you land.
Families heading into town use our Luton hotel transfers, which cover every major London area with fixed prices from £190 and hotel-specific delivery notes.
Milton Keynes, Silverstone and the M1 Corridor
Luton is the airport for the M1 corridor, and a chauffeur north is a straight run with no London crossing. Luton to Milton Keynes is 26 miles and from £170, Luton to Silverstone from £200 on race weekends and test days, Luton to Cambridge from £197.
Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire routes, and the national destinations, are on our Luton long-distance transfers page, from £82.
Windsor, Oxford and Beyond
Leisure arrivals heading west rather than into London: Luton to Windsor is from £209 and Luton to Oxford from £271, each a single door-to-door leg with all motorway running included.
Journey times on these routes depend on the M25 and M40 rather than a single figure; your chauffeur plans the route on the day and you pay the price agreed when you booked.
Connecting Flight Passenger
Luton to Heathrow for a long-haul connection is 36 miles of M1 and M25 with no direct rail link between the two. A missed connection costs more than the transfer. A chauffeur tracks both flights and drives it directly.
Heathrow to Luton is from £196. Every London airport pairing is on our airport to airport transfers page.
Private Aviation and VIPs
Luton is one of the UK’s busiest private-jet airports. Harrods Aviation and Signature Flight Support run their own terminals on the airfield, and MILE5 collects from both, timed to your handling agent rather than an arrivals board, with the S-Class for principals and the V-Class for crews.
Discreet chauffeurs who know the FBO gates, and group bookings arranged through one account with consolidated invoicing.
The DART, the Train or a Chauffeur From Luton
The rail link from Luton is genuinely good, and pretending otherwise would insult your intelligence. The DART shuttle covers the gap between the terminal and Luton Airport Parkway station in about 4 minutes for £4.90, and from Parkway the Luton Airport Express reaches St Pancras in 22 minutes at its fastest, with Thameslink filling the gaps at up to 8 trains an hour – and Thameslink keeps running through the night. For one person heading to St Pancras in daylight with a cabin bag, the train combination wins on price and usually on time. Our Luton Airport train guide has first and last trains for each day, the Sunday morning gap on the Luton Airport Express and the December closure dates.
What the rail journey cannot do is skip its own change. Every trip is two stages – DART, then train – and the change comes with cases, at whatever hour your flight actually lands. It also ends at a station, not at your door: a hotel in Mayfair or an office in Canary Wharf still means a second journey from St Pancras. A chauffeur takes the whole question away: one car, one fixed price, met in arrivals, direct to the address. For two or more people the arithmetic usually closes the gap on its own, and for a 4am check-in with a family’s luggage there is no comparison to make. Live arrival and departure times are on the airport’s own Luton flight information page, and the wider Luton Airport guide covers the terminal itself.
What Running This Network Has Taught Us
Luton is a base airport for easyJet and Wizz Air, and its head-office airline flies its first wave out early – which means the busiest hour for pickups at home is the one before dawn, when the DART-and-train combination is at its least appealing and a pre-booked car earns its keep. In the other direction, the lesson is the 60-minute wait: Luton’s arrivals can bunch when several aircraft land together, and a fixed booking that rides out a slow bag reclaim without a penny of extra charge is worth more than any headline fare. The third lesson is about the M1 itself – it moves well off-peak and badly at the shoulders, so our drivers hold honest time ranges rather than promising a single number, and the fixed price holds whatever the traffic does. Airport-to-airport connections are their own discipline with their own pages – see airport to airport transfers for those. Flying out on that first wave? Our guide to Luton security queue times explains the free PreBook slots that cover 3am to 3pm. Connecting from Heathrow by public transport instead? See how to get from Heathrow to Luton Airport by coach or train.
Picking Up at Luton Airport
Luton has one terminal – no North or South to specify, no T-numbers. Your driver waits inside the arrivals hall with a name board, tracking the flight so a delay moves the pickup time instead of costing you the booking. The Drop Off Zone sits a short walk from the doors and its £9 charge is already in the fixed price; the driver handles the payment window, not you. If you land early, the 60 minutes of included waiting starts from the revised arrival time, not the booked one – check the arrivals board and the Luton Airport guide for terminal detail on the day.

Common Luton Transfer Mistakes, and How to Avoid Them
Most Luton transfer problems are not caused by the M1. They are caused by decisions made before the flight lands. These are the ones our chauffeurs see most often.
Mistake 1: Treating the DART and the train as door-to-door. The DART covers the terminal to Luton Airport Parkway in about 4 minutes for £4.90, and the fastest train reaches St Pancras in 22 minutes. It is a good link for one person in daylight with a cabin bag. It is still two stages with a change carrying cases, and it ends at a station, not at your hotel or office. A pre-booked Luton chauffeur is one car, one fixed price, to the address.
Mistake 2: Booking a ride-hailing app and expecting the car at the door. App drivers cannot wait outside the terminal. They collect from the car parks, which means a walk with your luggage, a phone call to find the right level, and a car park charge added to the fare. A MILE5 chauffeur is inside the arrivals hall holding a name board. You walk to him, not the other way round.
Mistake 3: Not budgeting for the Drop Off Zone. Luton’s Drop Off Zone charges £9 for up to 12 minutes, then £1 a minute, and sits a short walk from the doors. Your MILE5 fixed price includes it and your chauffeur handles the payment window, not you. If someone is driving you instead, our breakdown of the Luton drop-off charge shows how the per-minute rate adds up and how to pay before the midnight deadline.
Mistake 4: Treating “Luton to London” as one journey time. Luton is around 35 road miles from central London down the M1. Allow 60 to 90 minutes off-peak to the West End or the City, and add 30 to 45 minutes for a weekday morning peak or a Friday afternoon. Canary Wharf and Docklands sit at the longer end. Plan meetings from your destination, not from a headline figure.
Mistake 5: Booking the wrong vehicle for the luggage. An E-Class carries three passengers with two large suitcases and a cabin bag. Four people with four cases, ski bags or a pushchair need the V-Class. Tell us the luggage count when you book and we will confirm the right car rather than send one that does not fit.
Mistake 6: Leaving a late arrival to chance. Luton lands flights late into the night, when the rank queue is longest and the two-stage rail journey is least appealing with cases. A pre-booked Luton chauffeur is timed to your actual landing through flight tracking, 24 hours a day, with 60 minutes of free waiting counted from wheels-down, so a delay costs you nothing and changes nothing.

Our driver, Mr. Khaled Osmani, was absolutely first rate, a real gentleman and a very good driver. He arrived at Heathrow on schedule, made sure we had rest stops along the way on our long drive from Heathrow to Liverpool and got us to our destination safely and on time. Many, many thanks Mr. Osmani and Mile5! We would book with you again anytime.Posted on Google![]()

Ali was an ideal driver for me. We engaged in conversation all the way. Consequently the trip went by quickly. He arrived about 10 mins early for pick up and he patiently dealt with all of the traffic. I easily give him 5 stars. I couldnt have asked for a better driver. If he takes me to LHR on Mon 21 I would be very happy Thanks for the good servicePosted on Google![]()

Really great service. My flight arrived much earlier than expected, but the driver had adjusted to the new arrival time and was already there waiting for me at the airport. The car was spotless and very comfortable, and the driver was friendly and professional. Everything was easy and stress-free. I’d happily use them again.Posted on Google![]()

We used MILE5 Heathrow Airport Transfers 3 times during our holiday in London. The last time was the most critical. Our flight was canceled after sitting on the plane for six hours due to the air traffic control glitch. By the time we found a hotel (took 2 hrs searching online- everything was sold out) and walked out to the taxi line, there were over 150 people waiting for taxis. In a panic, I called MILE5 and they were wonderful. They found a driver and a car and rescued two stranded tourists at 11:30 PM. I can't recommend them enough! I would like to add that MILE5 was $100 cheaper than what the hotel quoted us for their airport transfer.Posted on Google![]()

Excellent booking service, we used Chat GPT as we were in a hurry just as we’re leaving SFO. And GPT did all the booking process except payment where I took over. Communication and confirmation was excellent. Driver was there to meet us at Heathrow with a clean well maintained vehicle. Driving was smooth and defensive. Great experience. Would highly recommend.Posted on Google![]()

I booked two rides with MILE5. Both were very pleasant. I felt very comfortable; the drivers were very friendly and professional, and the rides went smoothly without any issues. I was able to relax and didn't have to do a thing. I'll book them again next time.Posted on Google![]()

After being seriously let down by BA who sold me a flight (ABZ to BKK) with a ridiculously short transfer between LHR and LGW, which entailed baggage collection and re-check in, I came across MILE5 via AI. MILE5’s service from initial contact, through to ease of booking, payment, reassurance that their driver was aware of timescale limitations and ultimately both meet and greet at LHR T5 to drop off at LGW South was 5 star all the way! All of the above and they also got me to check in with half an hour to spare, saving my flight and the start of my holiday in Thailand. I can highly recommend the MILE5 overall service - from initial reactive response, overall value for money, quality of car (a Mercedes E Class) and the safe driving, politeness and efficiency of their driver.

Luton Airport Chauffeur – Frequently Asked Questions
How much is a Luton Airport chauffeur?
Fixed prices start from £82 one way in the E-Class, £115 in the S-Class and £110 in the V-Class, for the shortest routes on the network. Every destination page shows its own exact fixed price, agreed before you travel and the same in both directions.
Do you cover journeys to Luton Airport as well as from it?
Yes – every route runs in both directions at the same fixed price. A pickup from your home or hotel to Luton Airport is flight-timed to your departure, with the driver monitoring traffic on the M1 approach rather than leaving the margin to you.
Is the Luton DART cheaper than a chauffeur?
For one person, yes – the DART is £4.90 and train fares from Luton Airport Parkway start around £6-10 booked ahead. It is honestly the right call for a solo daytime trip to St Pancras. The chauffeur’s case is everything the train combination cannot do: door to door with no change, luggage handled, groups priced per car rather than per seat, and the same service at 4am as at 4pm.
What happens if my flight into Luton is delayed?
Nothing changes for you. Every booking is flight-tracked, so the pickup time moves with the aircraft and the included 60 minutes of waiting starts from when you actually land.
Do I have to pay Luton’s drop-off charge on top?
No. The £9 Drop Off Zone charge is absorbed in the fixed price shown, and where a London-bound journey crosses the ULEZ or Congestion Charge zone, those are included too.
Which areas do you cover from Luton Airport?
All of London and most of England: MILE5’s Luton Airport transfers run to 120 listed destinations under the three hubs above, from Mayfair hotels to Cambridge, Milton Keynes, Silverstone and the Cotswolds. If a destination is not listed, call or WhatsApp and MILE5 will quote it as a bespoke fixed price.
Can I book a larger vehicle for a group?
Yes – the V-Class carries up to 7 passengers with matching luggage. Because the price is per vehicle, not per person, a full V-Class carries the whole group and its luggage in one booking.
