Gatwick to Woking Transfer – Door to Door Across Surrey
A Gatwick to Woking transfer is a fixed-price Mercedes chauffeur, around 40 to 55 minutes door to door and from £194 one way, running in both directions 24/7. Your driver meets you inside the terminal and takes you straight to your address – a town-centre office, the McLaren site, a hotel or home – with no rail change and no taxi rank to find. The Woking to Gatwick leg runs the same way for the trip back, timed around your flight.
Woking sits in north-west Surrey, about 30 miles from Gatwick. The drive runs north on the M23, west along the M25 to junction 11 or 12, then a short stretch on the A320 into town – roughly 40 minutes in clear conditions, closer to 55 when the M25 is heavy. It is one of our steadier Surrey runs, with a strong business element thanks to the firms based in and around the town.
A good share of our Woking work is corporate. The town has an unusually high concentration of professional and technical employers – McLaren chief among them – and a quiet car with a fixed fare, booked to a meeting time, suits inbound visitors better than a metered ride that climbs at busy hours. For families and groups, the V-Class carries up to seven on one fare.
MILE5 is a TfL licensed private hire operator (Licence No. 009161) with fifteen years and more than 50,000 airport transfers behind it, and a five-star Google rating you can read on our reviews page. The timings here come from drivers who run this corner of Surrey day in, day out.

Every Gatwick to Woking transfer includes an inside-terminal meet-and-greet at North or South Terminal arrivals, live flight tracking, and 60 minutes of complimentary wait time, so a late landing never costs you the car. The £10 Gatwick drop-off charge is absorbed, ULEZ is covered where it applies, and there is full luggage handling, child seats on request at an extra charge, and direct delivery to your door. We run 24/7, and the Woking to Gatwick direction is the same fixed price, so a return stays symmetrical with no homeward premium.
Where We Take You in Woking
The town centre is compact and modern, almost entirely rebuilt over the last century, so most drops are straightforward – the offices around the station and Victoria Square, the Peacocks and the New Victoria Theatre, or a hotel a short way out. For the McLaren Technology Centre and the business sites we head north of the centre; for the WWF Living Planet Centre it is right by the station. Give us the postcode and we set the route accordingly.
Woking also serves a wide commuter belt, and plenty of journeys run on to the villages around it – Horsell, Pyrford, West Byfleet, Knaphill and Old Woking. The neighbouring draws of RHS Garden Wisley and the Brooklands motoring museum at Weybridge are also a short hop, and we are happy to take you to the door of any of them.
What Woking Is Known For
Woking carries a surprising amount of history for a town whose centre looks so new. On Oriental Road stands the Shah Jahan Mosque, the first purpose-built mosque in Britain, raised in 1889 by the orientalist Gottlieb Leitner with funding from the Begum of Bhopal, for students at his nearby Oriental Institute. Built in Bath and Bargate stone with an onion dome and four slim turrets, it was the centre of Muslim life in Britain for decades and is a Grade I listed building still in use today.
The town’s other great claim is literary. H.G. Wells moved to Woking in 1895, settled on Maybury Road, and there wrote The War of the Worlds, setting the first Martian landing on nearby Horsell Common. The connection is everywhere: a striding Martian tripod dominates the town centre, complete with the cylinder it arrived in, and a statue of Wells himself stands close by. Horsell Common is still open heath you can walk, and it also holds the Muslim Burial Ground, the resting place of Indian soldiers of the First World War, now restored as a quiet peace garden.
Modern Woking has its own landmarks. The McLaren Technology Centre, the Foster-designed home of the McLaren racing and supercar group, was opened by the Queen in 2004 and curves around its own formal lake just north of the centre – one of the most striking pieces of contemporary architecture in Surrey. In town, The Lightbox gallery and museum, opened in 2007 beside the Basingstoke Canal, runs a changing exhibition programme and tells the town’s story. And on the edge of the borough lies Brookwood Cemetery, opened in 1854 and once the largest cemetery in the country, reached in its day by its own railway from London.
Train or Chauffeur for This Run
Woking has famously fast trains to London Waterloo, but the link from Gatwick is less direct – the rail journey usually means a change, often at Clapham Junction or via Guildford, and lands somewhere around an hour or more once you allow for connections. For a solo traveller with light luggage it can still be the cheaper option, and we will say so plainly.
Where the chauffeur earns its place is the door-to-door certainty: no change, no platform wait, no onward taxi at the Woking end, and a fixed fare whether you are one passenger or a group of seven. For an inbound business meeting, a late landing, or a family with luggage, that reliability is usually worth the premium. If you would otherwise reach for a premium ride-hailing tier, our comparison of Uber Exec versus Uber Lux shows how the app options differ from a pre-quoted chauffeur fare.
What the Woking Run Has Taught Us
A few notes from doing this route often. The M25 stretch between the M23 and the A3 is the usual variable, so for a fixed meeting we leave a margin rather than promising an exact minute. The town centre is largely pedestrianised and one-way in places, so we drop at the nearest access and it is a short walk to most addresses. For corporate visitors heading to McLaren or the business parks, give us the building name as well as the postcode, since the sites are large. And for the Woking to Gatwick leg on an early flight, a booked car beats a first train with a connection – especially with bags.
Gatwick Terminal Pickups
We meet every arrival inside the terminal. For a Gatwick to Woking transfer your driver tracks the inbound flight, parks up, and waits in the arrivals hall at North Terminal or South Terminal with a name board – we work only the two Gatwick terminals, never anything labelled T2 to T5, which belong to other airports. If you are unsure which terminal your airline uses, our North Terminal guide and South Terminal guide set out the arrivals halls and meeting points. You can also confirm your inbound status on the Gatwick flight information page, which lets you check the live arrivals board and track your flight before you travel. For the Woking to Gatwick direction we simply reverse the process, timed to reach your departure terminal in good time.

Yes. We regularly run on to Horsell, Pyrford, West Byfleet and Knaphill, and to nearby attractions such as RHS Garden Wisley and Brooklands. Give us the full postcode and we route straight to the door.
Planning the Wider Trip
Woking sits among the Surrey towns we cover, and the neighbouring towns make easy add-ons. We run fixed-price Gatwick chauffeurs south to Guildford and Godalming, east to Epsom and Leatherhead, and west to Farnham near the Hampshire border – each with the same meet-and-greet and fixed fares, which makes a multi-stop Surrey trip simple to plan.
