Gatwick to Stratford Transfer – Straight to the Olympic Park, Door to Door
A Gatwick to Stratford transfer is a fixed-price Mercedes chauffeur, roughly 65 to 95 minutes door to door and from £222 one way, running in both directions around the clock. You land at the North or South Terminal, your driver is already inside arrivals holding a name board, and you go straight to your address in E15 or E20 – no Tube map, no dragging cases across the city. The same service runs the other way for a Stratford to Gatwick departure, timed off your flight.
Stratford sits in East London, a little over 40 miles from Gatwick. We run north on the M23 to the M25 and then in toward the Olympic Park, so a clear off-peak run lands around 65 minutes and a busier one stretches closer to 95. East London adds a cross-city leg that a central drop does not, so we build that honestly into the pickup time rather than pretending every run is an hour flat.
The train is a genuine option and we will say so: Stratford International takes High Speed 1 services, and the Elizabeth line reaches central London in minutes. The catch is the join. From Gatwick you still ride into Victoria or London Bridge first, then change and cross the city with your luggage, and on a West Ham match night or a big ExCeL show the platforms at Stratford are not where you want to be holding three suitcases. The chauffeur skips all of that.
MILE5 is a licensed chauffeur company, not an app – TfL Licensed No. 009161, 15+ years on the road, 50,000+ airport transfers and a 5-star Google rating built one journey at a time. Same fixed price whether you book a Gatwick to Stratford transfer today or for a 5am pickup next month.

Every transfer to Stratford includes a meet-and-greet inside the terminal at North or South Terminal arrivals, live flight tracking, and 60 minutes of complimentary wait time built in for free. We absorb the £10 Gatwick drop-off charge, cover ULEZ where it applies, carry your bags to the door rather than the kerb, and fit child seats on request at an extra charge. It runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and the price you see is the price you pay.
Where we drop in Stratford and the streets around it
Most of our Stratford work clusters around the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and the blocks that ring it. We deliver to the East Village apartments built from the old athletes’ accommodation, into the towers above Stratford Cross and the International Quarter, and to the hotels lining the Westfield side. Westfield Stratford City itself is one of the largest urban shopping centres in Europe, with more than 300 shops and its own multi-storey car parks, so a drop there means naming a level and entrance rather than a postcode – tell us which and we will set you down at the right door.
Past the park the character changes street by street. There is the older Stratford around the Broadway and the Stratford Centre, the canal-side warehouses of Hackney Wick on the northern edge, and the quieter terraces of Maryland and Leyton just beyond. Stratford International sits to the north of the park, useful to know if someone in your party is connecting onward by High Speed 1 to Kent or St Pancras. Wherever the address is, the driver does the last hundred yards on foot if the car cannot get to the door.
What brings people to Stratford
Stratford is the clearest thing London built out of the 2012 Olympics, and most visits still orbit the park. The London Stadium has been West Ham United’s home since 2016, holding 62,500 for football and up to around 80,000 reconfigured for a concert, which is why a Stratford run can mean a quiet Tuesday or a sea of claret and blue depending on the fixture. Next to it the ArcelorMittal Orbit loops overhead in red steel – Anish Kapoor’s tower, with the world’s longest tunnel slide wrapped around it – and the London Aquatics Centre still opens its Olympic pool to the public.
The newer pull is East Bank, the cultural quarter rising along the waterfront. Sadler’s Wells East opened its 550-seat dance theatre in early 2025, the V&A East Storehouse followed that May with its order-an-object access to half a million pieces, and the full V&A East Museum opened on the Stratford Waterfront in April 2026. They sit alongside University College London’s UCL East campus and the London College of Fashion, with the BBC’s new music studios due to complete the set in 2027. It has turned a match-day district into somewhere people now come midweek for a gallery or a performance, and a fair share of our Stratford to Gatwick departures are visitors heading home after exactly that.
Chauffeur, train or taxi to Stratford
For a stadium night, an ExCeL trade show down in the Royal Docks, or any run with luggage and a fixed arrival time, here is the honest comparison.
| Option | Door to door | Luggage & event nights |
|---|---|---|
| MILE5 chauffeur | One car, no changes, met at arrivals | Bags carried to the door; fixed price even on match nights |
| Train via central London | Fast on the Elizabeth line, but one change and a cross-city leg | Cases through interchanges; Stratford platforms crowded after events |
| Airport taxi / minicab | Direct, but fare runs on a meter in traffic | No flight tracking; price climbs if your flight is late |
| Drive and park | Possible, but no general parking at the stadium on event days | Road closures around the park; you still pay Westfield parking |
If you want to weigh up the app options too, our comparison of Uber and Bolt across London lays out where surge pricing and waiting times tend to bite on airport runs.
What this route has taught us
A few things I tell every driver and most passengers about Stratford. First, check the fixture and event calendar before a match-day pickup – when the London Stadium is full, the roads immediately around the park close and we shift the meeting point a few streets out rather than crawl in the closure. Second, ExCeL down in the Royal Docks drives more of our Stratford-area work than people expect; a big trade show fills the hotels and we book those return legs early because the morning rush off the site is brutal. Third, for an early departure back to Gatwick, give us the cross-London leg back – leaving the park before six gets you to the M25 ahead of the worst of it. And if you are staying at one of the Westfield hotels, send the entrance name, not just the postcode; that car park is a maze.
Gatwick terminal pickups for Stratford
We meet every Stratford arrival inside the terminal, never at a distant rank. If you land at the North Terminal we wait in the arrivals hall by the exit from baggage reclaim; at the South Terminal it is the same drill in its own hall. New to the layout, our North Terminal guide and South Terminal guide walk through where the meeting points sit and how long the walk to the car takes. We track your flight from wheels-up, so a delay or an early landing just moves the pickup – you do not need to call ahead. To watch the live arrivals board yourself, the Gatwick flight information page shows status in real time and is the quickest way to confirm your own touchdown.

Gatwick to Stratford FAQ
How much is a Gatwick to Stratford transfer?
A Gatwick to Stratford transfer starts from £222 in a Mercedes E-Class for up to three passengers, £322 in the S-Class, and £332 in the seven-seat V-Class. The price is fixed and the same in both directions, so the return leg costs the same. The final quote depends on your exact postcode and any extra stops.
How long does the journey take?
Plan for roughly 65 to 95 minutes between Gatwick and Stratford. A clear off-peak run sits at the lower end; match days, ExCeL shows and the weekday cross-London squeeze push it higher. We build the real-world figure into your pickup time rather than quoting a best case.
Do you cover the Stratford to Gatwick direction too?
Yes. We run as many Stratford to Gatwick departures as arrivals, timed off your check-in. Give us the flight number and we set the pickup to get you airside with room to spare, allowing for the cross-London leg back to the M25.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
Nothing on your side. We track the flight from departure, so if you land late the driver is still waiting, and an early landing just brings the pickup forward. The 60 minutes of complimentary wait time covers the normal arrivals shuffle at no extra charge.
Can you collect on a West Ham match day or during an ExCeL event?
Yes, and we plan for it. When the London Stadium or ExCeL is busy the roads tighten and some closures go up, so we will agree a meeting point that the car can actually reach and factor the event into timings. Booking ahead matters more than usual on those days.
Will the chauffeur meet me inside the terminal?
Always. Your driver waits in the arrivals hall at North or South Terminal with a name board, helps with the bags, and walks you to the car. You are never left finding a rank or a pickup zone on your own.
How many people and bags fit?
The E-Class and S-Class take up to three passengers with luggage to match; the V-Class seats up to seven and is the one to choose for a family, a group heading to a match, or a heavy luggage load. If you are unsure, tell us the headcount and case count and we will point you to the right vehicle.
Other London routes and where to start
Stratford sits alongside the other event and stadium venues we cover, all on the same fixed-price footing. If your plans cross the river there is the Gatwick to The O2 transfer from £216 for a Greenwich Peninsula gig, and the Gatwick to ExCeL London transfer from £222 for the exhibition halls a short hop east. On the rugby side, the Gatwick to Twickenham transfer from £213 covers an international at the home of English rugby, while the Gatwick to Wembley transfer from £248 handles the cup finals and arena shows out west.
If you are still mapping out the trip, our Gatwick to central London hub lays out every district and venue we cover on that side of the city, and the wider Gatwick airport transfers page is the place to start for any route from the airport. For trips that touch other airports or longer runs, the main MILE5 airport transfer service ties the whole network together.
