Gatwick to Legoland Windsor Transfer – The Family Way to the Park
A Gatwick to Legoland Windsor transfer is a fixed-price Mercedes chauffeur, around 50 to 70 minutes door to door and from £211 in an E-Class, running both ways with free child seats fitted. MILE5 meets you inside Gatwick arrivals and drives straight to the resort gates – no train changes, no shuffling a buggy between platforms – and the Legoland Windsor to Gatwick return is the same fixed fare when the holiday’s over.
The park sits just off the B3022 Windsor and Ascot Road, about two miles from Windsor town centre. From Gatwick it’s roughly 35 miles – we take the M23 to the M25 and run anticlockwise to Junction 13, then a short hop to the gates, usually 50 to 70 minutes. By public transport you’d cross London, change at Windsor and pick up the shuttle bus, which is a lot of legs with small children and car seats to think about. One car, fitted seats, door to door, is why most families on this run book a chauffeur.
MILE5 is TfL licensed (Operator No. 009161), with 13 years and over 50,000 airport transfers behind it and a 5-star Google rating. The flight is tracked, so if the kids’ plane lands early or late, the car is there to match.

| Mercedes S-Class | Up to 3 | from £307 | from £307 | Book |

The fare includes an inside-terminal meet-and-greet at Gatwick North or South arrivals, flight tracking, 60 minutes of free wait, the £10 Gatwick drop-off charge, full luggage handling, and free child seats – just tell us the children’s ages when you book. For a family of four, the V-Class is the comfortable pick: room for everyone, the cases and a folded buggy. Twenty-four hours a day, every day of the year.
Inside the resort
Legoland Windsor has been a family fixture since it opened in 1996 on the old Windsor Safari Park site – the second Legoland park anywhere in the world, run by Merlin Entertainments, and marking its 30th birthday in 2026. There are more than 55 rides and attractions across the hillside. Miniland rebuilds the world’s landmarks brick by brick; LEGO MYTHICA brings the bigger thrills; DUPLO Valley keeps the youngest builders happy; and the LEGO City Driving School hands over a first “driving licence”. The newest coaster, Minifigure Speedway, races two teams forwards and then backwards.
If you’re making a short break of it, the resort has its own LEGO-themed hotels – the Resort Hotel under a sleeping dragon, the medieval Castle Hotel, and lodges out in the Woodland Village – and hotel guests get Early Park Access before the gates open to everyone else. We can drop you at the hotel check-in rather than the day car park, which with tired children at the end of a flight is no small thing.
Plan around the season
One honest piece of planning advice: Legoland runs a season, not a year. The park’s main season runs from mid-March to early November, with the gates generally open daily through the summer and a handful of special winter dates around the Christmas events. Outside those windows it’s largely closed, so it’s worth checking the resort’s calendar before you fix travel – we’d rather flag that now than have you book a transfer to a shut park. Windsor itself, two miles away, stays open all year, which is part of why so many families pair the two.
That pairing is easy to arrange. The town has Windsor Castle, the Long Walk and the river, and a day there sits naturally alongside the park. If you’d like to do both, our Gatwick to Windsor transfer (from £209) covers the castle and town directly, and we can build a combined itinerary into one booking.
Getting there with children: the options
| Option | Door to the gates? | Child seats | Price certainty |
|---|---|---|---|
| MILE5 chauffeur | Yes – or hotel check-in | Free, fitted to age | Fixed before you travel |
| Train + shuttle bus | No – via London, then bus | None | Multiple fares |
| Drive + park | Yes, then park and walk | Your own | Fuel + parking fee |
For a family day with car seats and a buggy, the ride-hailing apps are the weak link – the kind compared in our Addison Lee vs Uber guide can’t promise a fitted child seat or a fixed fare across the 35 miles, and a school-holiday surge lands at the worst moment. A pre-booked chauffeur with the seats already in place takes that worry off the table.
What this route has taught us
A couple of things from doing it often. Tell us the children’s ages, not just “two kids” – it’s the difference between a high-back booster and a full seat, and we’d rather fit the right one. If you’re staying over, aim to arrive in time for Early Park Access the next morning; it genuinely thins the queues on the headline rides. And on the Legoland Windsor to Gatwick return for an afternoon flight, leave a little earlier than the map suggests – the M25 around Junction 13 backs up on a school-holiday afternoon, and a calm run beats a rushed one with worn-out children in the back.
Gatwick terminal pickups
We meet families inside both Gatwick terminals – North and South only, never T2 to T5. Your driver waits in arrivals with a name board; our North Terminal guide and South Terminal guide show where to head with the trolley and the pushchair. For the journey home you can track your inbound on the live arrivals board via the Gatwick flight information page, which keeps your Legoland Windsor to Gatwick pickup on the real landing time.

Gatwick to Legoland Windsor – FAQs
How much is a Gatwick to Legoland Windsor transfer?
From £211 in a Mercedes E-Class (up to 3), £307 in an S-Class, and £314 in a V-Class for up to 7. The Legoland Windsor to Gatwick return is the same fixed price, with free child seats and no surge – your final quote depends on exact postcode and vehicle.
Are child seats included?
Yes, fitted free of charge. Tell us each child’s age at booking so we bring the right seat or booster – it’s part of the fixed fare, not an add-on.
Can you drop us at the Legoland hotel instead of the car park?
We can. If you’re staying in the Resort Hotel, Castle Hotel or Woodland Village, we’ll set you down at hotel check-in so you’re not hauling cases from the day car park.
Is the park open all year?
No – Legoland runs a main season from roughly mid-March to early November, plus selected winter dates around its Christmas events. Check the resort calendar before you fix travel, and we’ll match the transfer to your visit.
What if our flight into Gatwick is delayed?
We track it from departure, so a late landing just shifts the pickup, and you still get the 60 minutes of complimentary wait once you’re through arrivals.
Can we combine Legoland with Windsor Castle?
Easily. The castle and town are two miles from the park, and we can build a combined visit into one booking – see our Gatwick to Windsor transfer for the town itself.
Other family days out from Gatwick
Legoland is one of three theme-park runs we cover from Gatwick. For older thrill-seekers, our Gatwick to Thorpe Park transfer (from £193) reaches the country’s tallest coaster, while Gatwick to Chessington (from £163) suits families wanting rides and the zoo in one day. If the trip is really about the town, the Gatwick to Windsor run (from £209) covers the castle directly.
All of these sit within our long-distance Gatwick transfers, part of the wider Gatwick airport transfers range we run across the South East.
