Be prepared for a day packed full of culture. The first stop is Rochester Castle – an imposing fortress that sits astride the River Medway – a wonderful ancient castle which has seen so much history in it’s long life. Then take a stroll down to the magnificent Rochester Cathedral, a place of Christian worship since 604AD, the second oldest Cathedral after Canterbury. Take your time to explore the history behind this beautiful and ancient Cathedral. Then on to the oldest and most famous English Cathedral, Canterbury Cathedral, Mother Church of the worldwide Anglican Communion and seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury. The Cathedral is steeped in history and the atmosphere which envelopes you as you explore the various areas cannot be overstated.

Canterbury Cathedral is one of the most famous cathedrals, not only in England, but in the world. It is the seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury as well as the Mother Church of the worldwide Anglican Communion. This is a day trip that you can’t miss.

We will also take you to see Rochester Castle which stands on a hill and provides a spectacular view over the River Medway and the whole Medway area. The fortress is 12th century and its most prominent feature, the stone tower, has seen many battles and still remains one of the best preserved towers in Europe.

After looking at Rochester Castle, you can then turn around and see Rochester Cathedral. Being a place of worship since 604AD, it is the second oldest cathedral in the country after Canterbury. The close proximity of the castle and the cathedral enables you to enjoy the cultural richness of both structures and you can take your time exploring their histories.

Our next port of call is Canterbury cathedral which is steeped in history. The atmosphere that envelopes you as you explore the various areas cannot be overstated.
