Our full Heathrow chauffeur service and London airport car service run the same fleet and the same fixed-price model across every destination we cover, whether you need an executive airport transfer for one passenger or a private car for the whole family. Flying from the other side of London instead? Our Gatwick airport transfers work exactly the same way, from both North and South terminals.

What Makes MILE5 Different

When you book a Heathrow airport transfer with MILE5, you’re not arranging a generic minicab. You’re securing a luxury airport transfer built on 13 years of operational focus from our base at 450 Bath Road, two minutes from the airport perimeter. We run the same service across every London airport, not just Heathrow. That proximity cuts our running costs, which is how we hold competitive fixed prices, and we absorb the £7 Heathrow drop-off charge and all ULEZ fees inside the quoted fare. Here’s what that means in practice.

Two Minutes from the Airport, Not Across London

Your chauffeur is already near the airport before your flight lands, rather than driving in from across the city and hoping the traffic cooperates. After 13 years operating from one location, our drivers know from daily experience which motorway exits run fastest at which times, which back roads bypass M4 congestion, and exactly where to meet you inside each terminal. Combined with flight tracking that monitors your aircraft from takeoff and adjusts pickup automatically, you get a service that runs like clockwork.

A Luxury Mercedes Fleet That Defines the Standard

Every luxury airport transfer happens in a Mercedes E-Class, S-Class, or V-Class MPV, replaced every three years, sanitised between every journey, and equipped with climate control, bottled water, phone charging, and generous luggage space. If you have been searching for a Heathrow limousine service or a London airport car service, this is what that looks like in practice: a private, chauffeur-driven Mercedes rather than a stretch limousine.

Professional Chauffeurs, Not Gig Workers

Our Heathrow chauffeur service is staffed by drivers who are DBS-checked, TfL-licensed (No. 009161), and trained specifically for airport transfers. They know every terminal’s layout, every hotel’s correct vehicle entrance, and which routes beat peak-hour traffic. Not people picking up fares through an app, but career professionals. Read what clients say about our drivers.

Meet-and-Greet Inside the Terminal

Instead of hunting for a taxi rank or walking out to a car park, your chauffeur is already waiting inside the arrivals hall with a name board, at the correct hall for your terminal. LHR Terminal 5 has its own dedicated arrivals area, and Terminals 2, 3 and 4 each have their own meeting point, so your confirmation tells you exactly where to walk. You get 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time counted from actual landing, so you can take your time through passport control.

Fixed Pricing That Never Punishes You for Traffic

Black cab meters climb with every minute stuck on the M4, and app-based fares rise with demand at rush hour and on bank holidays. Our pricing is locked the moment you book. Rush hour gridlock? Same price. Friday afternoon M4 standstill? Same price. From January 2026 Heathrow also charges £7 per drop-off with a strict 10-minute limit in the terminal zones, and a penalty for late payment. Your chauffeur handles that too, and it is already inside your fare.

We Never Close

When public transport shuts down and taxis disappear, MILE5 keeps running at the same fixed price. We operate 365 days a year, including every holiday, every late-night arrival, and every early-morning departure.

MILE5 Insider Tip: Friday afternoons on the M4 can add 30 minutes or more to a Central London journey. Our drivers use the A4 and Longford routes to bypass the main motorway congestion, which typically saves up to 20 minutes.

Who Uses MILE5

A solo business traveller landing at Terminal 5 at 6am has entirely different needs from a family of five arriving at Terminal 4 with a cruise departure the next morning. Here’s how a MILE5 transfer works for each type of passenger.

Solo Business Traveller

You land at LHR, you have a 9am meeting in the City, and you need to be in the car before you’ve finished clearing immigration. This is what an executive airport transfer is for. The E-Class is quiet, clean, private, and has a charging point. Your driver is tracking your flight from gate departure.

Every booking generates a full VAT receipt automatically, and corporate accounts add monthly billing, multi-booker access, and consolidated invoicing.

Family of Five or More

Five people, five suitcases, two carry-ons, a pushchair, and children who have been awake for 14 hours. The Tube is not the right answer. The V-Class MPV seats up to seven passengers with full luggage capacity, and child seats are fitted before pickup.

For families heading into town, our Heathrow hotel transfers cover every major area with fixed pricing and hotel-specific delivery advice.

Cruise Departure

Southampton cruise terminals are 80 miles south-west of Heathrow, and cruise ships do not wait. Our Heathrow to Southampton cruise terminal transfer is built for it: a vehicle booked to your specific terminal, flight tracked from departure, fixed price with all motorway running included.

Timing note: most cruise terminals begin boarding at 11am, so a 7am Heathrow pickup is the comfortable standard.

International Student Arrival

Oxford, Cambridge, Bath, Guildford and Reading take thousands of international students through Heathrow each September and January, arriving with a year’s worth of possessions. Parents who have flown in to help settle their child do not want to manage that on the Elizabeth Line with a trolley of boxes.

V-Class transfers run to Bath, Guildford and Reading, and our site is available in Arabic, Chinese, Hindi and seven other languages.

Connecting Flight Passenger

If you’re transferring from Heathrow to Gatwick, Stansted, or London City for an onward connection, the window is tight and missing it is expensive. The Heathrow Express and Tube add connection time and luggage complexity that a direct vehicle removes.

Our airport to airport transfer service covers every London airport pairing, and the driver monitors both your inbound and outbound flight. From £182 Heathrow to Gatwick, from £239 Heathrow to Stansted.

Event Delegates and VIPs

Reliable transfers for conferences, exhibitions and high-profile events across London, with discreet chauffeurs who understand that arrival times are not flexible.

Quiet S-Class cabins for calls on the way in, and a chauffeur who knows the correct entrance at every major venue and hotel.

Common Heathrow Transfer Mistakes, and How to Avoid Them

Most Heathrow transfer problems aren’t caused by traffic or delays. They’re caused by decisions made before the journey starts. These are the ones we see most often.

Mistake 1: Booking a ride-hailing app without realising where the car actually is. App drivers cannot wait in the terminal drop-off areas. They queue in a dedicated car park that is a 10 to 15 minute walk from arrivals at Terminals 2, 3 and 4, and a shuttle bus ride from Terminal 5. A pre-booked chauffeur transfer means your driver is inside the terminal with your name on a board. You walk to him, not the other way around.

Mistake 2: Underestimating the M25 at peak hours. Off-peak it’s 45 minutes to Mayfair. Friday afternoon between 3pm and 7pm it can be 90 minutes. Always add 30 to 45 minutes of buffer for any transfer departing Heathrow between 7:30am and 9:30am, or 3:30pm and 7pm, on a weekday.

Mistake 3: Not accounting for immigration and baggage collection. Passport control queues for non-EEA nationals at Terminal 5 can run 45 to 60 minutes on a busy morning, and baggage reclaim after a long-haul flight adds 20 to 30 minutes. MILE5 tracks your flight’s wheels-down time, so the 60 minutes of complimentary waiting is counted from actual landing, not scheduled landing.

Mistake 4: Booking the wrong vehicle for your luggage. An E-Class holds two large suitcases and a carry-on comfortably. More than two large bags, or more than two people, and the V-Class MPV is the right choice. It handles up to seven passengers and a full load of checked luggage, and on most routes it costs only marginally more than the E-Class.

Mistake 5: Not accounting for departure timing. A 10am flight requires check-in by 7:30am. The journey to Heathrow is 60 minutes in normal traffic, plus 30 minutes for a weekday morning M25. That means a 6am departure from home. Book the return transfer on this logic, not just the flight time.

Best and Worst Times to Transfer from Heathrow

Best Times: Fastest and Most Predictable

Before 7am on any weekday. M25 and M4 are quiet. Heathrow to Central London typically runs 40 to 50 minutes.

9:30am to noon on weekdays. The morning commuter peak has cleared. The most reliable daytime window for a 45 to 55 minute transfer.

Saturday mornings before 10am. Among the clearest road conditions of the week, before leisure traffic builds.

After 8pm on weekdays. Once the evening peak clears, the M25 and M4 run freely. Late-evening transfers are consistently fast.

Worst Times: Allow Extra Time

Friday 3pm to 7pm. The worst regular transfer window of the week. The M25 can be at a standstill between J15 and J12. Allow a 90-minute buffer for any onward plans.

Monday and Tuesday mornings, 7:30am to 9:30am. Heaviest commuter traffic meets the highest volume of business travellers. Allow 75 to 90 minutes Heathrow to Central London.

Christmas Eve and the Sunday before Christmas. The two busiest Heathrow days of the year, with the M25 and M4 gridlocked from early afternoon. Book the earliest possible slot.

Whatever time you’re travelling, MILE5’s real-time flight tracking means your transfer is timed to your actual landing, not your scheduled one. Book your fixed-price transfer.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find my chauffeur at Heathrow arrivals?

Your MILE5 chauffeur waits inside the arrivals hall of your terminal holding a name board with your name on it. We meet at the correct arrivals area for each terminal, and our guides for Terminal 2, Terminal 3, Terminal 4 and Terminal 5 show exactly where. Your confirmation email includes terminal-specific instructions.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

We track your flight automatically from takeoff. If delays happen, your pickup time adjusts without you lifting a finger. We include 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time for international arrivals and 45 minutes for domestic flights, counted from your actual landing time.

What’s included in the transfer price?

Everything: professional chauffeur, Mercedes vehicle, real-time flight tracking, inside-terminal meet-and-greet with name board, luggage assistance, complimentary waiting time, the £7 Heathrow drop-off charge, and ULEZ fees. Unlike app-based rides, there are no surge multipliers, airport supplements, or hidden fees. The fixed quote you receive at booking is what you pay.

Do you serve all Heathrow terminals?

All four LHR terminals: Terminal 2, Terminal 3, Terminal 4 and Terminal 5. Based two minutes away, our chauffeurs reach any terminal within minutes. We also cover Gatwick, Stansted, London City, Luton and Southend.

Can I book a car service or taxi from LHR Terminal 5?

Yes. Terminal 5 is our busiest pickup point and we cover it around the clock. Rather than joining the taxi rank or walking out to the ride-hailing car park, your chauffeur meets you inside the T5 arrivals hall with a name board. The same applies at Terminals 2, 3 and 4. Book it as a Heathrow Terminal 5 transfer and the price is fixed before you fly.

Do you provide child seats?

Yes. Child seats and booster seats are available on request and fitted before pickup. Just specify the number and ages of your children when booking online. All seats meet UK safety regulations.

How does MILE5 compare to a ride-hailing app at Heathrow?

App-based rides require a 10 to 15 minute walk to a car park pickup zone, charge variable surge pricing, and offer no flight tracking. MILE5 meets you inside arrivals, charges a fixed price regardless of traffic or demand, tracks your flight automatically, and provides a guaranteed Mercedes with a professional chauffeur.
